It amazes me lilith where you find these topics for discussion!

I agree with the arrogance and confidence, can be the first think you notice in a person! can't say i have seen it with anyone here though :)

Confidence doesn't annoy me, arrogance does. :)

Someone interested can quickly cross the line into stalking territory is he/she doesn't/won't pick up on body language, etc.

Competitive is healthy . . . obsession is too much!

Lilith,

How does one decide if the one making the judgment call is correct - in either direction?

Between confidence and arrogance.....

It's "confidence" when you proclaim it once. It's "arrogance" when you repeat it less than a 1/2 hour later!

or

interested and psycho stalker.....

It's "interested" when he says, "We've got to stop meeting like this because people will begin to talk". It's "psycho stalker" when he quits saying that and you end up in the witness protection program!

or

competitive and obsessive.....

It's "competitive" when the crowd is rooting for you. It's "obsessive" when everyone but you has already gone home! <-----READ BETWEEN THE LINES ON THAT ONE!

Lilith,

I would suggest that one is arrogant or obsessive rather than confident or competitive, when one is indifferent to the opinions expressed by others. When the states of mind are not accessible to others, they run a much higher risk of being destructive or damaging (arrogant and obsessive), rather than healthy and alive (confident and competitive).

The difference between interested and psycho-stalker is...

which side of the window they are standing at when they are thinking about you!

Competitive people love to win...obsessive people must win.

Confident people know they're good...arrogant people think they're the best.

And finally, for Osuche, the sexy ladies of Pixies are provocative...I'm annoying. ha ha

The difference is how you react to any of them.

Your mood is the key to how you read the signs.

I agree Oldfart, but to me the thin line is when does it become less about your perception and more about their actual behavior?

All of these questions are just like asking "what do you think is kinky?"....its all in the view point.

Exactly and I am asking for people's views.

osuche

I'd rather talk about what I think is kinky...a topic that is neither obsessive nor arrogant

Confidence is a presence you can feel, arrogance is projected to everyone and overcomes

Interested is saying hi, psycho stalker is waving from across the road while looking through your binoculars

Competitive is trying to do your best in all things, obsessive is having to be the best.
