When or if you think about coming to America, where do you imagine coming to? A particular city? Or a state? Or a tourist attraction?Or just the country in general?

Well from what I've heard I wouldn't be coming to American for the 'culture' or the food, so it would have to be for the landscape.
I would love to see the Grand Canyon, and have always fancied driving through a Canadian Redwood tree. I have a romantic notion about Christmas Shopping in the New York snow, but I'm not sure the experience would meet up to my expectations which are entirely based on the films I've seen!
Of course, I'd have to stop in to witness the torture and misery that is Lilith's dungeon too. :)

I have spent some time in California and had a great time touring New England, and even though I'm not a city boy, I loved New York.
I think that there is a tendency to overdo the attractions - I'd love to chill out in the Florida Keys - but worry about being Hemmingwayed-out!
I've always wanted to drive coast to coast, preferably in an open top Tbird.
Oh and I want one of those Philadelphia beef sandwiches.

well I am coming and it is to see people and by seeing them will also see the sights.
Lixy is taking me to the Statue of Liberty, Teddy to the Cheers bar in Boston, Osuche the sights of Columbus and PF has arranged a tour of Cleveland that seems like it will take 4 weeks not 4 days LOL. Dunno if i will catch up with BCG in Madison yet, hope I will.
And of course I will see Billings in montana but am sure that I will see a lot of curvy's bedroom LOL

A co-worker & I were talking about something similar on smoke break this week. We answer calls from many major cities in the U.S. There is one in particular I will never visit just because I find the customers are the rudest (but I also blame a stupid promotion on our part for it, too).
My co-worker said, "What cities would you go to? Of course, I want to see L.A., San Fran & New York but I don't know know where else I'd want to go . . ."
I'd add Chicago for the architecture & New Orleans because it's New Orleans!

I've been to L.A., vages, San Fransco, and New York.
Next I'm planing the music tour; starting in Chicargo then on to the Motor Town, back to New York [I do love it] Menphis, Nashville and ending in New Orleans.
Hopfuly that's next year. Not going to Florida, to many Brits. I think your country is great.

Surely you know dude has connections and won't allow me in Ohio space!
And Boog, I recently discovered the hotel rooms aren't cheap for Vegas. It looks like I'm going to have to do Burning Man and it'd be better than a hotel room in Vegas.

New York because I want to see the atomosphere of a city that has twice as much inhabitants as my country
Chicago to pick up some concerts. A lot of good band are coming from Chicago lately.
New Orleans ---> jazz
LA or SF, just because I'd like to see it for once.
And off course, the national parks because I love nature.

Didn't see Peoria on anyone's list. <<< sniff ... sniff >>> :(
And, here, Teddy Roosevelt thought the view of the Illinois River Valley from Grandview Drive was one of the prettiest he had seen. Go figure. :)

To be honest: right now I wouldn't visit the U.S. for some reasons.
But I've been there ;) And I did love to live for a few month in California, near San Francisco, I did visit L.A., Carmel, Sacramento, Washington D.C.
What I missed is New York, and I'd like to go there, one day, when the times have changed again ;)

Grumble, if interested in the Cheers bar in Boston make sure that you go to the real place (Cheers = bar that looks like the set, Bull and Finch Pub = real bar that they used for the outside, though not the same as the set inside).

I noticed that nobody mentioned Niagara Falls. *sniff sniff* It's not just Canada. Though I can understand why you wouldn't want to come here. :-D But it's a nice place to visit, and I love living here. New York is so much more than that city down in the south part of the state.

Umm,
I never had a strong wish to visit the US, but I think it would be a cultural/nature thing. New Orleans perhaps, the Rockies, San Francisco, Las Vegas, not sure what else...
