Things like this, remind me that it's all worthwhile. One of my "youngest" daughters(never showing any emotion)sons, has
been coming over this week. There is NO school,in NH,this week,&
he told his mother that he would rather spend time with "Grampie",than go to a Day Care.I was given "instructions",
on what he could watch on TV(No Jerry Springer, etc)He loves
court TV shows & knows, all of the Judges by name!I found this
typed paper,on my kitchen table, last night.Evidently,he typed it on his home keyboard.
"My Grampie and I are spending vacation together. We are having a lot of fun together. We watch the Judge shows together.
I love him a lot and I mean it,anyone who says I don't will get
there butt kicked. The End."
I now look at him as not such a "pain in the ass"! Irish

His younger brother is Autistic & gets most of the attention. He has
always projected an "I don't give a shit"attitude! It's almost like he
has built up a "defense" or wall around him! Irish

I've come across situations like that before Irish. It can be really hard on other siblings. Sounds to me like you and he have something really special, which I know you will go on and nurture with him, in the hopes of bringing that wall down.

(((Irish))) you are right, its things like that note, filled to the brim with a little boys love, that make you forget all the pain-in-the-ass stuff!

And btw, he's a very lucky little boy to have such a caring Grampie and he'll never forget the things you did with/for him. He'll know that even though the rest of the world gives his younger brother most of the attention, he's special to you.
