Never been chatted up, so I can't really comment, but personally, I don't think a 'line' would work on me.

I'd rather, 'Hello, my name's ......., what's yours?'

I like a person to talk to me, not just throw lines at me, and in my experience, that's the way most women feel.

the best line I've used was on my wife yesterday. I have a habit of winking at her in the office (we work together) and can be quite persistent about the winking
