I',m curious.I was "shocked"recently,when watching the news,on
many networks.It takes, alot,to bother me.I've seen much violence,in the motorcycle lifestyle.Believe me,todays violence,is
nothing,compared,to the "old" days.There isn't nearly,as much,
violence.Has anyone seen,the pictures,of ALL of the kids,on a
Schoolbus,beating on one kid.and cheering.When I first started,
my motorcycle business,I drove a Schoolbus,part time,until my
business, got established.7 runs a day.My kids still had to eat.
I therefore know,that there is a bus-length rearview mirror,so
that the driver,can see,what's going on.I don't know,if it's because,I always,stuck up for the underdog or what.I couldn't
believe that the driver did nothing. When one kid,can beat your ass, theres no need for others to help.Am I just old fashioned or
did this bother anyone else? Irish
P.S.As in any,situation,if you don't take control,someone else does!

Not seen or heared of this in the UK. I'm not standing up for what the driver did but the reason may have been he didn't dare intervein in case he was accused of assaulting the children involved.

My fave principal jumped in a fight to break it up. A girl got her arm broken in the melee and he lost his job. I'll be curious to see what the whole story is from everyone's point of view.

Many school districts have the rule that instructors/administration are not allowed to stop a fight due to that very reason Lil. Liability issues.... :(
There have been many lawsuites against teachers/principals and school districts when the teacher waded into the fight to split up the kids. Parents then sued the school district because the kid was "injured" by the teacher splitting up the fight.
In school districts that violence is an everyday thing, many of them have hired special guards or even have off-duty police roam the hallways. In that aspect, those who are in those positions can break up a fight with no liability issues because they are "specially" trained to do so.
A fight recently broke out in our high school, and the teacher could only stand in the doorway after she called the principal. He called the police and 5 minutes later they showed up. In the meantime, both kids have bloody noses and the classroom was pretty much trashed by the other kids egging them on. In that instance, I wouldn't have had the ability to even try to break up that fight as the kids were pretty big, and fists were flying pretty fast.
One parent furiously asked why nobody broke up the fight and saved little "Johnny" from his beating...well, little "Johnny" was the one who started it...
So, sometimes it is damned if you do, and damned if you don't.

When I drove School Buses, the Bus Co.,had a contract with the
school board. You had to get a special Bus Drivers License, just like
& in addition to,your regular operators license.I also,had to take a
test,with the state,for a Light Commercial License.If violence,
erupts,on your bus,you are supposed to return to the school, get
someone from the school office,& they are supposed to stop it!
Meanwhile, while you're inside, the kids, trash your bus, bacause you, messed up their schedule. If there is trouble, you are supposed to,take the students names & they are punished by the
school.I had many encounters with parents!I was one year younger than most of the boys, when I was in school,so I know,
the helpless feeling of being beaten on.I graduated when I was 17!I ended up with a beat everyone up,that had beat me up,when I got as big as everyone else.If I was born,3/4 days later,I couldn't have been in that grade. For that reason,I kept,my
oldest daughter, back one year in first grade. It affects your, whole,
outlook on life. The thing that irritated me so much, was that no-
one wants to get involved! Irish
P.S. the special bus license, says that you are qualified,to deal with children.
