If a guy is very affectionate, could that be a turn off? I've heard things to the effect that it makes the guy seem less masculine and therefore less attractive, and seen things that support it. Yet, women seem to want affectionate guys.

Thoughts?

Honey affectionate IS masculine!!!!!!!! You just got to know how to use it!;) And don't smother me! Not being affectionate shows me that he's selfish and self centered. Now who in the hell wants a man like that?
NOT I!!!!!!!!!

I'll take an affectionate man any day over one who's not.

Yes to all...when I am out in public with hubby, like holding hands touching groping, etc. But if I am out in public with a woman, will be affectionate, but discreet. (giggling)

I want affection but it needs to be appropriate and not smothering.

Well, I'm quite affectionate and one of my wife's friends doesn't understand how my wife can stand it. On the other hand, said friend has little use for men outside the bedroom.

I have to agree with Cowgirl affection is masculine, there is no place on my body that I don't like to have touched. If I'm making dinner and my guy comes in and starts kissing my neck and running his hands over my body, I'm in heven!! If we're in public, holding hands or his arm around my sholder is exactly what I want.

Like many others have already said, affection is good and oh so masculine. I like affectionate men. If you can't be affectionate with me in public, don't even bother for the bedroom!

I am a very affectionate man, I love to hold hands and whisper sweet nothings in her ear because I love her and want her to always know it. If others can see our love then the world is a better place.

Read what my sweetie (curvyredhead) said and you will see that we share common ground

Affection is wonderful -- as long as it is appropriate and not too smothering. I LIKE a guy to care for me -- but I also like my personal space. It's a balance, but the right (and affectionate!) guy can figure it out.
