I've been thinking about designing a new mentoring program for women engineers... And it got me thinking about what type of experiences are most valuable in a mentoring program.

Since I've got a pretty diverse group of Pixies here...I thought I'd ask all of you.

1) If you've ever been part of a mentoring pogram...and give us some details (how old you were, profession)

2) What was most valuable about the program?

3) What did you wish the program included, that would have been useful to you in a mentoring program?

THANKS to all the great folks out there who are willing to humor me...

I've never been involved in such a program but I can't wait for the ideas to come pouring in!

Teachers during their first assignment at a school, usually get a peer mentor. This is someone who is there for support and guidance but not to supervise or be their superior. Being able to be open about feeling inadequate, or not knowing everything, would be critical.
