does anyone have any advice on purchasing a laptop? what they liked about theirs of potentially didnt like?

im lookin at an ibook rightnow. i runa pc but i hate it and hubby likes it, so since i get a laptop and the ibook has all i need thats the winner lol .

The laptop I'm chasing at the moment is a Mk1 Lilith,

I have an HP and I have not had any problems. I bought it last Christmas. My dad has a Dell and has had all kinds problems wht the hard drive and has had to reformat it a few times and has to have the hard drive replaced.... All computers have problems from one time to another....

the laptop I have is an HP Pavilion ze4125 if that helps
i have an hp desktop and it sucks and all my friends and family with hp's hate them so im staying away. i was thinking dell but after fender's reply im not so sure.

from my experience at work I will never buy a DELL laptop for personal use. All the desktop and workstations we have from them have been great... but pretty much every single laptop we have had (over the course of 6 or so years) have had serious hardware issues. We switched over (for laptops only) to IBM and have been seeing much better results over the past year (and most of the DELL units suffered from problems within the first year, usually keyboards and the video flex cable going bad).
