As many Pixies, I am a Guinness fan and have been on the Canadian mailing list for a loooong time. I RSVP'ed to an invitation to a Guinness party on the 14th.

OK . . . it's a press party but I'm hoping there's at LEAST ONE FREE PINT! Woohoo!

I wouldn't. I've really gone off Guinness since I visited Ireland 5 years ago.

mmmm.... Guinness.... mmmm.... tasty...

during college we refered to it as "Irish Cola" as we were not allowed to have beer in the dorm :D

(member of the 1759 society (http://www.guinness1759society.com/) before it was open to the public... i.e. it still had a membership fee... but you got a real nice shirt and key chain out of the deal!)

You're more than welcome, MilkToast and Booger, too.

Just read today that Guinness is growing in popularity in Africa where many people swear it's an aphrodisiac!

I have never tried Guinness - are there different brands/types? Advice and recommendations would be helpful. I do like semi-dark beers and ales.... :D

Steph

Cheyanne, it is the darkest of dark beers! It takes several minutes to pour and has been around since 1759.

guinness.com can answer most questions

Give it a try, I dare you! :D

Isn't Guiness a stout? (sp?)

Oh...whadda I know? Anyway......I like micro-brews.....but I truly don't care for Guiness (or any really dark beer). I would, however, love to come to the party and sneak in a skin of my own drink of choice......hold a Guiness in hand....and pretend I am a supporter.........just to hang out with you guys!

Am I in????

You are always in Lixy!!! I'll take the long road and pick you up and we will meet Steph at the party!!! :D :D

Will take ya up on that dare Steph...... ohhhhhhh you can be sooooooooo evil, but that is why I luv ya.. :D

I will pick up a pint at the store... thanks for the info Steph!!! Sounds interesting..... hopefully one of those widget thingies will be included!!! LOL

Steph

Yes, you'll get the widget dealio with the can. If you can, find a pub that serves it - it's much better.

Better yet, there HAS to be a rich Pixie out there who'll fly us all to Ireland for a Guinness tour!

Well not to make you all feel bad. A nice pint of cool flow to die for.
Cheyanne and all the ladys not to many pints or you will be on a diet for the rest of 2004. Happy new year for IRELAND.

Guiness merchandise, now I love that.

I'm certainly in, Steph. Guinness can substitute for a meal at my house any day. :-D

Although I went out to a local pub the other day and they served me this vile mixture of Guinness and apple cider -- which I would not recommend.

Don't mess with the real, pure, unadulterated flavor of a Guinness.

Steph

That sounds like a black and tan or some variation of that drink, osuche. Did you request that drink or did they just give it to you?

Guinness merchandise is awesome! I hope to get a free shirt or something, too!

Here are some posters. One of my favourite watering holes has a giant poster with the horse on it - Guinness for strength.

another note on Guinness: a good friend's mother grew up in Dublin. Her mother is in her 60s and remembers when Irish housewives put some Guinness in the baby's bottle to help them fall sleep! :D
