Oooooh, a pre-vet student. Decided on a specialty yet (even though there's no 'official' specilization). Reptiles are cool. hint, hint.

Your living in an area of the States where the population is the same as the whole of Australia!

OzKristin
01-02-2004, 10:35 AM
hehe got that right Catch!..however.....Australians are so much more friendly, and the country is so much better to live in there here..yuck! lol..I mean New York can be nice on occasion, but.....I mean having been a jersey girl my whole life, I do think it is time to move on soon, see other areas of the u.s., you know..go exploring ;-)

Head down south...lotsa sprawl and plenty of decent honest folks with a kind word. We'll take you in Lousiana, give you a good big crawfish boil too! Take you to see some gators and herons, take you crabbing... come on you know you wanna! lol

OzKristin

hehe sounds fun, but i'm such a northerner! lol....I've visited as far "south" as Florida and Alabama...was taken aback by how friendly everyone is....but I need to be in some kind of city, or else I'll get "scared" haha...but a nice area, where I can get outside into the fresh air, with no hassle, thats my dream area to live in!

SuccubusKitty

Then see the south isn't for you we have a few metropolitan areas...not many like the north I will grant you. But if you don't wanna live here, we'll be more than happy to let you visit for awhile. :lust: And don't forget to let us take you to the Big Easy babe. ;)

Wow what a coincidence. Another person from Nj in love with the Outback. Although I have yet to have the pleasure, I am really looking forward to the day I get to see Australia. I have a thing for the outbacks' wildlife and aborigonal culture. I own the cutest little pets Iv ever come across. Theyre called sugar gliders. They are actually marsupial flying squirrles. Well to be more precise they are actually in the possum family. Also I have an absoululty HUGE love affair with didjeridu's. I got into it randomly a few years ago and it just kinda took. Currently I am making an inventory. I showed a couple of samples of my work to some local music shops, the larger chain ones, and they are very interested. I have been doing a few custom jobs for friends or just people that seem interested. Shamless plug,,,hehe,. Well anyways, welcome to the board OzKristin. One New Jersian to another.

Queensland would be the same weatherwise as Florida and Alabama. The Gold Coast would be like parts of Florida, yes?

OzKristin

Catch-I was on the Gold Coast during their winter, so I wouldn't know how nice the weather can really get-although I've heard very similar thoughts about it being really hot and sunny like FL can get.....

Frenum-I love sugar gliders, very cute lil creatures! ;) I own a digeridoo actually! I play it pretty good i'd say hehe....

Frenum

Really? Thats awsome!!! we may have to get together and do a bit of didjing sometime. Its such an obscure instrument that you hardly ever find someone else interested. So naturally I get very excited when I find another player.

Grumble

Wow Frenum, I am impressed. I am told a didgeridoo is very hard to play. I have discussed very briefly with OzKristin about the friendliness of Australia and I would probably get into trouble in place like NYC where I would naturally go up to someone and say Hi and expect them to chat with me LOL.

Grumble- Nah, its not hard to play at all. It is just a bit tricky to learn. Some people pick it up and get the didjeridu to drone immedeatly, others take about 15 min. It took me closer to 20. But once it clicked, the love affair began. Its so medatative and therapudic that I reccomend it to everyone.

OzKristin- Sorry to be stepping on your thread so much, but all this Aussi talk and didjeridu talk just peaks my intrest so.

Sydney can be very not friendly depending on where you go. I guess all big cities anywhere in the world can get that way.

hmm...I was in Sydney for a week...and found it just fine....it's such an easy city to navigate! I stayed at Bondi Beach and went into Sydney every day..did the Bridge Climb, went into the opera house..all that stuff....I just loved Circular Quay, if I could, I would just walk around that little area all day!

Frenum-oh it's okay, I get really worked up when there is talk about Australia too, the more in the discussion the merrier! :)
