the yummiest sexiest book and am 1/2 way through it and don't want to stop, except to stretch my hand which keeps getting a cramp:o
The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by A.N. Roquelaure (aka Anne Rice) is a loverly, easy-to-read, quickie for those of you who like your sex less vanilla. Lots of powerplay and BDSM, all wrapped up in a lovely little modern fantasy adaptation of a fairy-tale.
What was the last thing you read, that you read straight through, and could not be bothered to stop reading, even to put out a small house fire???:p:spin:

There are informative, opinionated books I like to breeze through like "Stupid, White Men" and "Fast Food Nation" but there are other books like ones by Irving, Updike, Monro, Callaghan that I like to savour :)

Fantastic Book Lilith... I read it many years ago... you do realize that is only 1 installment of what she has written in that genre. She has also written Beauty's Punishment & Beauty's Release.

Last book I read straight though (would knarl your hand off if you stopped me from reading it even to give you the Heimlich maneuver!) was Tommyknockers...SK!
I've almost read through SK's Desperation....but it didn't grip me (for some unknown reason) like Tommyknockers did! I'll finish it yet, though! Only three or so more chapters to go.
I read a lot...but never get time to read straight through lately (past two years)...and so I have to pick a point to stop and make sure I do (an extremely hard thing to do)!
A friend sent me some books recently (at my request...from a list of books with no home).....and I've started it and haven't picked it up in a few weeks (time is precious)....it's a detective mystery by Jon Katz.....called The Last Housewife.
I think I have too many irons in the fire....(scuse the expression in reference to books)!
I might need to get those books that you mentioned Lil.....they sound interesting!

On hold? Aren't they older books, though?
I don't treat myself to books as often lately . . . perhaps if I lived in one place for a long time, I would. Damn books are heavy in a box :D

Blimey Lilith, you're going back on this one. The last book I must've completed was umpteen years ago and was a Goosebumps book - anyone remember them?
After the September 11th attrocoties I bought a book published by the BBC. I started it but haven't read it nearly 2 years.

Watched the film but have not read it...I will put it on my to do list. If it's anywhere as sexy as this series is I'm in trouble. I have spent 2 days now with my eyes half-glazed over not just from reading but being so lust filled;)

Lilith,
So how did you like the other books in the series? My husband gave me them as a set on our honeymoon, and then he was mad because I wouldn't put them down except to have sex. He said he had to be the only guy on earth who wished his wife would go shopping on their honey moon! He just wanted to spend the cash we had been given for our wedding. But he was glad I was so horny the entire time! I've reread them many times since then.
The last book I read cover to cover was The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown. Loved it. Now I'm trying to find something to take to the hospital since it will be my last chance to read by myself for the next few months! I can multitask, but I don't think I can read, breast feed, and chase a one year old around my house at the same time. Then again I amaze myself every day!

Kissyface~ I spoke with a friend today who just finished the DaVinci Code...she loved it too. I have read books 1 & 2 and am about 1/3 through the 3rd. They have been a lovely diversion from my typical reading which is usually textbooks!
