Well, I definitely know I'm the parent of a toddler. I'm a senior manager at a pretty large company. Depending on the project I can have between 4 and 12 people working for me. In a group of about 8 people yesterday, I excused myself from a working session using the following phrase:

"I'll be right back. I have to run and go potty."

It will be years before I live this down.

Please include your own experiences here!

at least you can go with out "the potty song" playing in your head. I had a preschool student with special needs who was afraid of the potty soooooooooooooooooooooo I developed "the potty song" and now I hear it everytime I go....torture:p

Lilith - I had the Potty Song from the video "Once Upon a Potty" going through my head for months straight.

Steph - It definitely has its up sides, though. :D

Well, I tend to splatter myself with food when I eat sometimes. Maybe one day I'll get to experience that... :)

The songs that get stuck in your head are the worst. I don't go many places so it's not so bad for me, but my husband says he finds himself singing them in school and at work.

Do potty songs work? We aren't that close...yet. My kid did just take her diaper off yesterday and potty in the dining room so I may just need a new song soon....

too funny!

Well, I was sitting holding one of my cats that hasn't been feeling well the other day. Suddenly I realized I was rocking her. And my "baby" is 24!!! Guess old habits die hard.

You know you're the parent of a toddler when...

You're in the grocery store and hear someone yell: "Mommy"..... and you look..... even though you know your kids are at home.

(Mine are 21 and 17 1/2, but I still look)

Lol... but that's a good thing Teddy!

I asked our little one for a cuddle the other day and he came over, slipped his arms around me, and gave me a big hug, even murmuring and patting my back softly! So funny - he'd never done that before and it was such an imitation of me!!
