Would there be any interest in having a Monthly Pixies Newsletter?

You know I’d do anything for you.;)
Now what did you have in mind for this “house organ;)” to do? This whole board is somewhat of a daily news letter, isn’t it? Knowing you, I’m sure you have something you are envisioning that would be different.
PS
If this DOES include home delivery, sign me up for a subscription.:D

Heehee. :D
Now really, I think if we could get a certain amount of Pixies to each write a little something...happenings on the each individual forum...the threads that are a MUST SEE...(Like new men posting naked pics of themselves ;) ) Nothing really complicated...just something for the folks who would sign up for it to catch up if they can't be here all the time....
(It's my brain storm of the day...lmao.) So I am just asking for input!

Yes it is...but if you can't get here everyday like you PF,...(ya perv...) ...it would be nice to read the happenings, wouldn't it?
Ok.... sue me if it's a bad ideal.

Like PF said, the board is kinda like a daily newletter but I'm sure there'd be an interest in a monthly "what's up".

DAMN!
Now I DO have to get serious.
That is not a bed thought at all for the time we can’t get here for a few days or during a vacation (holiday;) ) or whatever. I think there actually could be a good use for something like that. BUT…. Only if Smut Games has a separate column. lol
Tell me more.:)

I'm sure some may find it useful. Let me know if you decide to start a List Serv etc. especially if you plan on using the Pixies name so I can get you permission and see if the owners want to verify content etc.

I didn't think we would need permission...learn something new everyday here!!
Thanks Lil.:)

Could be trademark or copyright infringement depending on how and where the newsletter is set up or maybe not. Has to do with implied affilliation and permission to represent.
You may find some of this helpful. I know when I began a List Serv newsletter for an educational organization I was affilliated with I had to have it sanctioned by the actual organization.

Also I am not sure what technology laws apply when a site is used internationally but is based in one specific country. Always better to be safe than sorry.

Cripes!!!!
All this legal shit for a little newsletter.
But please do ask the new owners...and see what they think. If anything it might get more of the members to come here if they read the newsletter and haven't been here in a long time.
(I know a a few boards that send out a newsletter and it makes me go back there to check them out if I haven't been there is a while....it's just a friendly reminder to let them know..yes we are still here and missing you a whole lot!! ;) :D)

Please explain what would a newsletter do that this web site doesn't?

I think if it's feasible to have a newsletter, one feature I think would be especially welcome would be notification of what new stories have been posted. Although I have Pixies as my 'home page', it's not Pixie's main page, it's the main Forums page. So unless I catch it in the New Posts listings I miss what new stories have been posted. This was especially the case during the time we weren't able to post comments directly to the stories.
Sorry, don't mean to be so long winded.................

The only time the "New Stories" feature of the site has actually been accurrate is when we had links that posted the story replies in the Erotic Story Feedback forum. Now unfortunately what ever stories have been newly posted OR posted to, show up as new. The more accurrate feature was lost in the site transfer.
This link is to the stories the site lists as new:
http://216.150.92.84/categories/new.shtml
The main page was set up to be a homepage it has log in, mail, PM and chat links:

If you have not checked it out in a while you may want to.:D Kim did a really nice job customizing it for members.

Who let PF loose again? Someone give that monkey a banana!
I like the idea of a Newsletter - a summary update of what new stories have been added, maybe what new pic threads have been started, and also news of members - eg Grumbleguts getting his award sort of thing.
Another thing to ponder, is who's gonna do it? Are you volunteering, Lovediva, or just putting the idea out there? Summarising a month could end up being a lot of work I think. A smart idea would be to have people submit reports or something - like Sharni provides and update of new pic threads or something. I dunno.
I'm happy to help in any way I can, of course!
And I also think Lilith is right on the money about asking for permission, too. We should remember we're merely USERS of this site, we're not the OWNERS.
Great idea LoveDiva!

Well I was putting the idea out there to see if there would be enough interest for having one..It was brought up to me by a couple of friends here......
.If there would be, then I was gonna ask for "Who would be interested in helping with it"..... I know I can't do it by myself..But if there were 5-10 people doing each a forum and we could submit it to a "Pixie Editor"....and then in turn email it.. or even post here ?!?
But until we find out from the owners if this is acceptable...then everything is up in the air till then...
But thanks for your help Casper! I will definetely keep you in mind! :)

Well NightRider..I'm not sure....LMFAO!!
I know there are alot of members who have registered and have forgotten the addy to Pixies and haven't been back since... So if they register and "opt to receiving a Newsletter" they would get the addy back! Also there are members who only visit certain forums, for example, the Ladies Picture forum....but if they see something in the newletter in a different forum that is new or is newsworthy, it might make our family grow just that much more!
If it flies it flies...if it doesn't oh well.....I just put the thought out there! :)

Now if we can team ----^ with a "searcher"??? Any hands from SOMEBODY that's here ALL THE TIME?
I think I see a hand near 36.6N - 93.2W?

HHHMMMMM,I am wondering what a newsletter would give us that a trip to Pixie's forum can't.It is pretty thorough here.We have Sex News, several catagories for discussion,a place for erotic stories, picture postings and links to other favourite sites.A monthly news letter might be a little to much for someone to try to send out to the members.
Casperr
11-28-2003, 07:05 AM
Lakritze - the idea is a little 'summary' or update of goings on. Not everyone can log in every day, and for those that for whatever reason miss a few weeks or don't get a chance to log on as often as they'd like, a newsletter would be good for letting them know what they've missed and what's happening on the site.
I doubt it would be adding to the great site we have, but it would be a useful tool to remind people to check in, alert them to things they may have missed in the forums etc.
As for the frequency of distribution, I think monthly would probably be ok if lots of people write little bits, for eg a moderator from each forum writes a small tidbit of news from that forum or whatever, emails it through to the editor, who copies and pastes and before you know it, you've got a small but informative newsletter.
I dunno, but the idea's a good one!

I actually like the idea of a monthly newsletter. Some folks on Pixies as has been mentioned before only view one or two categories and if you do that you miss a lot of wonderful content. I think the best way to do it would be to have folks submit articles, lists, game ideas, polls...you get the idea. Then have a coupla folks go through and pick the best submissions and of course we'd need some "columns" regular articles written by the same folks every month.

I'm all for a newsletter. I have trouble getting here while I'm on campus due to the way the campus network is set up...firewalls and such. A nice newsletter would be awesome. Would it come to email or what?
Casperr
12-22-2003, 05:47 AM
I would imagine it'd be sent via email, yeah. It really only needs to be a text file, or even the body of the email - no need for flashy pics or anything, you get them at the site!
