IAKaraokeGirl
01-08-2004, 12:05 PM
I was nearly sixteen and a sophomore in high school. Our huge marching band was fortunate enough to win a major competition that fall, and we consequently got to go to Orlando to march in the halftime show of the Citrus Bowl that December. While we were there, we got to do some touristy things, too, which included a day at the newly-opened Epcot Center. Near the entrance were some video phones that connected you with customer service. Now, this was 1984, and video phones were pretty radical. The person in customer service could see you and your surroundings, which included the huge golf ball-looking thing in the background, and you could see them. Some friends of mine went up to the phones, "called" customer service, and explained that they were trying to find the huge white ball. The person on the other end was confused. She tried to explain where it was. My friends still played dumb. Finally, after three or four minutes of this, she simply looked at them, spoke very slowly and firmly, and said, "IT'S RIGHT BEHIND YOU." OMG, I couldn't stop laughing.

IAKaraokeGirl
01-08-2004, 01:43 PM
I'm not sure being attractive is that important to me. I know that I am a good person, especially inside, and I want others to feel that way, too. I do hope, however, that I always remain attractive--physically, intellectually, mentally, emotionally--to my SO.
Do you do volunteer work, and what is it if you do?
osuche
01-08-2004, 01:46 PM

Do you volunteer, and what do you do?
IAKaraokeGirl
01-08-2004, 02:01 PM
I used to (a lot)...vocal choir, bell choir, mission work, community chorus events...but things lately have been a bit much and I've cut down some. I'd love to get back involved with working on a crisis line--did that for two years in Louisville and *loved* it--but I haven't made that first step yet.
