Well I am into my fourth month of bc pills and I hate them! They wreck havock on my sex drive, actually make me feel dead. While my bf and I are still quite sexually active, it takes a lot of convincing on his part to get me in the mood. Before the pill I was always ready and now... I just switched to a lower dosage of hormone with this new pack of pills, but I am considering trying an IUD. Specifically a new one that I believe is called Mirena. I was just wondering if anyone out there is using this IUD and looking for any feedback. My doctor claims that sexual side effects are almost non existent with this method. I would just love to find something safe that will allow me to still be me.

We just use condoms. I will never go on the pill or Depo again.

Way to go Skip! I have often wondered why when in a long term relationship with no more expectations of children are wanted, that the man just doesn't go in and get his tube seared.... lol
A woman shouldn't have to always be the one to subject herself to synthetic hormones, IUDs that could lead to major problems, or go have an invasive surgery to get her tubes tied when the man could possibly (as an outpatient with no overnight stay) just have a vascetomy.

Well my ex was having trouble with the pill so I had a vasectomy, it was no biggie for me.
Too bad it didnt seem to encourage some more passion, but that is the way things spin out.
Isnt there an injection you can have instead of the pill? perhaps that might be more suited to you Huntersgirl.

I haven't had a chance to get on recently, thank you all for your responses...
Lilith~ I have been to a few of those but I will check out the others! Thanks!
Pantyfanatic~LOL... Would be great, but my s/o would like to have kids someday so....
nikki1979~A little worried about the cramping, I have seen that that is a side effect. I think I am willing to suffer through some pain to get my sex drive back though.
Steph~ Tried depo many years ago, couldn't stand it. Wish I could just use condoms, but I know me...and I know that that isn't safe enough for a girl w/ no willpower..lol
skipthisone~lol, good for you!
Cheyanne~ I agree!
grumbleguts~Tried it years ago, definitely just as bad if not worse. That is why I am going w/ the new IUD.
