This has been an awesome week for me in so many ways. I don’t know if I should run to meet the turning of the worm or dig a hole before the backlash of good fortune finds me.

I just sent an e-mail off to a friend that I spoke of on this board before, to congratulate him on China’s accomplishment of manned space flight and earth orbits.

We all accept the simmering of life’s caldron,… (like there’s a choice) when we are in the stew and the fleeting moments when we boil to the top. My question, is there a defined different result for you if you see the glass half full or half empty? Do you find it better to go with the momentum of the up curve or dose dragging your feet keep you from being flipped off the top at max altitude? Dose your reserve in the push keep you lower or safer?

It may not change the final outcome but it certainly changes the grace, courage, or determination I muster with which to face whatever it is. Which in the end determines if people want to be around me or if they shun me as someone with a poor attitude. I hope I never drag my feet or keep anything in reserve. Is a waste to save up for something that may never be.

I don't like to see myself as one who drags his feet but when things really go exceedingly well I am inclined to look for the van across the street with a camera and Alan Funt snickering at me.

Anticipating disaster doesn't either postpone or bring on the bad times, it just draws out the unpleasentness. If we can't bring ourselves to appreciate the good parts, we're not storing up the strength we need to get through the bad ones. IMHO

I'm feeling rather "close" to this question! I've always been of the attitude that "with good, must always come bad....or we wouldn't know good if it bit us on the ass"! So.......I KNOW....that when things are going really, really bad for me and mine.....good is lurking, just around the corner. But, to flip the coin......when things are going really, really good for me.........I hate to do it, but I can't help but think..."When's that shoe gonna fall"?!

I think, at times, I almost encourage (sabbotage) the flip side of the latter scenario.....in order to "Meet It Head On and Get On With the Next Phase"!!!!!!!! But the former? I probably procrastinate and bask in it.......always and ever knowing..."This Too, Shall Pass"!

Now......can I go get a cup of coffee and a cig....and bask? LOL!

*hugs*

P.S. LMFAO@BigBear! Alan Funt is dead hun! Oh...wait....he has a son...don't he? That show is somewhere on my list of "things I would love to do (have happen to me) in my life!

I have always had the attitude that you don't worry about it if you can't do anything about it, so therefore worrying about what is going to happen around the corner is pointless - just go with the flow. Life will hand you some good shit and some bad shit - the real thing is being able, and prepared, to handle whatever is given to you on whatever day. You can't be in fear of something bad happening. If Columbus was in fear of failing where in the hell would we be today?

The last few years,I have had the attitude, that worrying about
something probably isn't going to change anything,so why worry?
Example:Among other things, that I did,I used to Drag Race motor-
cycles. If you pull up to the line, stage & think of all of the things
that could happen---You don't belong there in the first place!
2:I used to drink, heavily. If you have a problem & you get drunk,
your head is too messed up to handle the problem!Plus when you
sober up,you still have the problem.
Solution:Just handle it! Irish
P.S.To awnser PFs original question---Only your pants, will know,
if it's a GIANT fart!
