Mr. Lil wants to take me away for a long weekend, like Thursday afternoon to Monday evening. We have not had a vacation alone in a long time. Hell, we took people on our honeymoon.:p

I am not looking for anything too busy nor do I wanna just sit and watch the leaves change colors for 3 days.

Any good ideas? We can do plane, car, or ship. I have really not traveled any and am curious where you have been and why you enjoyed it.

Lilith, I'd suggest a cruise. How else could you choose whether to lock youself in your cabin for private fun or get out and enjoy all kinds of activities. You don't have to drive, worry about eats or where you're going to sleep. As for destinations, there's a world of options and I'm sure there's some you haven't seen that would be of interest.

Lilith, Amsterdam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its an absolutely amazing place, from the red light district to the museum quarter, something for everyone.

Come Down Under!!

We got it all

We only have maybe 3 or 4 days at max and not unlimited resources$$.

Bear~ We have thought cruise, did that for our honeymoon, but have no idea which one, and the viral thing on several of them lately has me a tad nervous. Any one with a specific cruise suggestion please PM me.

Yin~ If I could go to Amsterdam I'd just go to Scotland;) I will make that suggestion to Mr. Lil:D

Sharni~ 4 days would never be enough for me to see all the beautiful things there. Heck we'd prolly want to spend 4 days just playing with you and Bilbo :hot: I would love to see your country!

I hear the "midwest" is really pretty at this time of year.... ;) :D

There's not much foliage on a cruise, but they are definately entertaining.

I'd say New England, but that's only for selfish reasons.

How about the Amish country in PA?

Branson's always good....and not nearly as crowded now that the height of the tourist season has passed. And talk about foliage!! OMG!!! It's gorgeous here right now!!!!!

Diva~ ;)

WilIrish~ I think New England would get me in almost as much trouble as Washington:D We are looking at December but wanna book something now so it's cheaper. Cruises are lookng good.

SS~ I bet it's beautiful. I am heading north to see the leaves next weekend.

OK, since I don't imagine I can sucker you out to Oxford (although I do give one hell of a tour)...I'm declaring myself unbiased.

This time of year, a driving tour of the finger lakes (or just a nice quiet perch near one of them) would be stunning. Beautiful trees, lovely scenery, wine tasting as you go, and all sorts of good things.

Also high on my list, if you've never been....Santa Fe. Any time of year (except mid summer, if you're opposed to heat). The food is stunning, the town is lovely, the O'Keefe museum is a must, the archetecture is fab, and there are galleries and shopping opportunities galore. It's a wanderer's paradise....or you can just sit on your balcony and watch the sunset across the mountains.

Just a couple of thoughts....hope you find the perfect getaway!

Um.................Haven't I told ya'll (there's that southern accent again  ) enough about this neck of the woods to fulfill any inquiring mind?????? Pa. Dutch country is nice......but far from romantic for a couple wanting to get away, alone, for the first time in years! The Amish would really frown on all that public groping and spit swapping!!! LMAO! And.....if it's in December that you want to visit here.......there's only a bunch of buggy's and horse poop in the snow to look at! :D Or you could stay just a bit southeast of Lancaster county.....and visit us here at our homestead Lil and Mr. Lil (in Montgomery county).........but then I've told you how exciting cow tipping is and I wouldn't want you to go home and need a vacation from your vacation! I'd say if you ever have a need to see Pa. Dutch country and you need a tour guide and it's not going to be a "romantic get-away".......myself and Mr. Lixy would love to show you around! But.......I'd take that cruise if I were you Lil! I hear an Alaskan cruise is wonderful!

3-4 days living where you do ... (I've never been there, but) I'd say New Orleans!!! ... I've always wanted to go there.

Lilith

GingerV~ If I ever make it to the UK I am surely NOT taking Mr. Lil:o SantaFe sounds lovely!

Lixy~ I grew up in a city with a huge Amish population so they hold no fascination for me either:p We are thinking along the B&B lines...but I'd like one with a BDSM theme :p

fzzy~ Mr. Lil mentioned New Orleans to me at dinner tonight. If he knew about my promise to Wicked Wanda then he'd have booked the hotel already. All I could think about was all that iron and those beautiful cemetaries.

I have not been to New Orleans in 30 years but I would still go for that as a recommendation. Or some where in the great southwest in Dec.

Steph

Yup, New Orleans it is!

The Rockies this time of the year would, um rock! :)

I don't know where you live Lilith, but since you said you could take a plane, how about Door County, Wisconsin?

Depending on the time of year, think: lighthouses, fall colors, snowmobiling, airplane rides, horseback rides, sailboat rides, train rides, scuba diving, skiing, winery, museums, and theatres.

Have you ever made love in the snow? Everyone should try that at least once. Of course, then you'll need to warm up. Can you feel the warmth of the flames on your inner thighs as Mr. Lil treats you to divine oral pleasure in front of the fireplace?

And no trip to Wisconsin would be complete with a trek to Green Bay to worship...er...experience the holy...er...legendary frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. Buy a Packers jersey. Eat at Brett Favre's Steakhouse (surprisingly romantic) right arond the corner from Lambeau. The comedy club in town is a riot. Eat at the Prime Quarter on Oneida St. where you grill your own steak in a cozy atmosphere. Visit Gipper's sports bar. They also have another bar in town that's 3 bars in one - all in the same building. One area is country, one might be jazz, and the other rock. Dance the night away there. There's also a great Casino in town. Or take a dinner cruise on the riverboat as you watch a Packer's game.

I love Wisconsin!

Lilith,

I enjoyed New Olreans when I visited.

Vegas is another favorite of mine. We love staying at the Paris resort. Gamble, indulge yourself, relax with an in-room massage, go paragliding, take a helicopter ride over the strip at night, take a helicopter ride and picnic to the Grand Canyon. Rent a Ferrari, a Hummer, or a Porsche. Eat at the Eiffel Tower restaurant overlooking the strip and the Bellagio Fountains (You must do this at night. This is the most romantic restaurant I've ever been to). Sorry, no Sigfried and Roy! Vegas is a trip. There is so much to do there and you can almost always find great air fare/hotel deals.

If you decide on either of my suggestions, let me know and I can pass on contact information on the places I've mentioned and offer more specific suggestions. :)

I have never seen real snow, I am from Florida.

Micheal Smith---Door County? It sounds as if you're describing NH!
My wife just got back from Amish country. She took a tour with one
of her sisters&an older girlfriend. She loved it.It must depend on your preferance, because I definatly wouldn't enjoy it. I have been almost everyplace in the world. My best friend & his wife, moved to Hobe Sound Fla.Eveytime they visit(Her folks, still
live here)They say how much they miss NE.I have known many
people that have moved & they ALL say the same thing!I would
therefore reccommend NE!I used to drink heavily(Recovering Alcoholic) & missed alot of good tourist time, sitting in bars.A
"barroom tan" is the same no matter where the location.Unfortunately,I didn't realise that when I was younger!
The 15th,will be 11yrs4mo,sober!Better late,then never! Irish

OMG Lil! Michael Smith should be a tour guide!

Try Vegas first.......then go freeze your ever lovin butts off in Wisconsin in December! Brrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

I once went on a blasting convention trip with hubby...to Fla. as it was the year it snowed 30" here (in Pa.)...and I was sick to death of snow up my crack!......Um...so anyway.........that particular year it was the coldest cold snap in Fla. history to date and I got a wake up call that said...."Good Morning...this is your 6:30 wake up call. It is 29 degrees and sunny. Have a nice day". And I yelled....."Where the fuck am I"????????????? That was hubbies wake up call! LOL!

Oh....so my point? When we got to the hotel the previous evening.....it was still about 70 degrees and we sat and drank in the hot tub all evening......till the chill started coming (round 1am).......and the next day (at 35 degrees) there were folks from Wisconconsin swimming in the pool (not a heated pool either)!!!!! We asked...and they said....it's still warmer than it is in Wisconsin right now....(it was -7 degrees when they left their home)!!!!!!

(I would vote for New Orleans ~ the mix of people and history would facinate me to no end)

If Cobalt and I ever get a chance to get away for 4 days, I would love to rent a cabin in the mountains of Wyoming or South Dakota during the fall season....not near a bunch of other cabins, but somewhat secluded ;) .

Couple of ideas. Windjammer cruises are really neat. Can get them normal and I understand there are even nude cruises available. :)

Also, have you ever been to a fantasy motel. Pick the location, but they can be a lot of fun if you're looking for times of intimacy. My wife and I have tried three different ones and love them all. (We enjoyed switching rooms each day to try different settings.)

In any case ... have fun!

Lilith

dicksbro~ I have thought about staying at a BDSM hotel...we've not done much role play.

I have noticed that a few people have mentioned cruises.I
don't know all of the circumstances,but my wife & I , have
joked about them lately. It seems, almost like , everytime we
put the news on,there is another cruise that has to come back,
because of a MASS sickness on board. It has been so prevalently
talked about, that we have wondered how the cruise lines, stay in
business! Irish

Oh Man! It's Mardi Gras....Key West style! It's all the talk this time of year! Great choice little devil! The Keys could seem like a whole other paradise island Lil! And...it's close.....yet far...and has a bit of everything! But..could be expensive if you're just now thinking of booking......advance is so much cheaper!

I've always wanted to do the Hedonism thingy too...!

How much you wanna spend?
I mean NYC is great and you can do just about anything there and no one will even notice.

If you are looking for a drive the Mountains of NorthCarolina and Georgia and or Tennesee have some nice stuff to get you out to the cool clear air.

I know a few nice places....fzzzy's SoCal locale is exceptional but if you are from Fla it might not be your diverse get away. Tahoe is unfuckingbelieveable but 3 days???too short. If I were you I would go to NYC. Cheap filghts and a total variety of things to do. Hell even the Catskills are underrated as a destination to kick back. check out the Mohonk House.

N.O. is cool.
SF is awesome I mean Cali rocks where ever you go but the flight takes some time for us easterners.

To quote the Green Acres ....New York is where I'd rather stay.
and there are great cemeterys and playgrounds like www.paddlesnyc.com/
