I've started a yahoo group for all of us to join and keep in touch through....i've met many wonderful people through this amazing site....and i dont wanna lose contact with you all

Thank you Sharniqua for finding a new home for us. I'm still finding my way around this site, but it didn't take me long to feel at home here and to realize that FINALLY I'd wandered into a site that wasn't full of superficial children, ya know?? Yahoo groups can be a bit difficult to maneuver through.

Might I suggest the ezboards system for creating the new mini Pixies Orphans site?

Sharniqua, I can help you get one going on ezboards if you'd like.

I'm familiar with both yahoo and MSN groups and both are not easy or fun to navigate....

Thanks for the group sharni. For those who join the yahoo group, I highly recommend you to disable the email notification for every messages. Or else it will flood your mailbox real fast.

It is pretty easy really... but you have to get into all the yahoo stuff... yahoo ID and profile is the most important... then you have to join the group... but the catch is you have to have a yahoo e-mail that has been confirmed... and then that e-mail is the only way you can post pics on the group through the message board... I just posted one for giggles... whoever she is... lol Hope to see you there and I am so sorry this is closing... Randygal ~ I had thought of ezboard....but they have a 'no adult content' clause in their rules and conditions of use....as do most message boards

Yahoo is about the best around at present....MSN only allows 3Meg of storage/email addie.....where as yahoo allows 30Meg/group....

I know 30Meg isnt much...but it can hold more than you think...and if you fill the first site i can just make another

It's not so much members only as it is designated as an adult site in their listing/catagory when you set it up... if it is not done as an adult group it will be deleted by them eventually!

well talking about the yahoo size limit if we all pay atenion to what we are doing we can setup our own photo folder and put our pics there. just need to remember to remove the older ones adn or try to keep the pic sise as small as posible the problem is we wount be able to but a lot of info with each pic the way we are used to.

Good point Cheyanne. But I don't think anyone's going to object to a secondary forum to supplement whatever might go on, the way the chatroom now, on somebody else's IRC network, is an addition to and supplement of the existing website (i.e. it's pixies, even if it doesn't share the same IP hostname).

I look at the Yahoo group as a lifeboat in case the big boat does go down (using Eliza's observation from another thread).

I totally agree with Dadaist's comments as well. It might not all be in one place but it still Pixies.

I also agree with CasperTG's suggestions in the other thread... again, it involves a split in the forum.. I would be happy to just have a discussion forum (no pics). I know that Pixies would not be the same without the "pix" part, but I would still get to interact with all the highly varied personalities that have come to make this more than just a simple forum... and that would be good enough for me.

I agree wholeheartedly, MilkToast! I know for some the pictures were the main reason for them being at Pixies. But for me it has always been the discussion forums, and the games forum, and the stories. I did check the pix on occasion, but I can certainly live without them.
