Do you think the freeway chase sequence will ever be topped in film?

Nope.

At least, not in the next 10 years.

Actually, scrub that - ask me again after the third film!

I loved that freeeway chase scene in Reloaded, but I love to downplay it to my friend who's a motorcyclist because he starts drooling everytime we talk about it.

More importantly, will Persephone's dress be topped (emphasis on the "top" ) by anyone in film?

Given the choice, Persephone or Trinity? My vote's Trinity

Fuckin hated that movie. Hands-down, some of the most boring, arbitrary action sequences I've ever had the displeasure to bear witness to. Every single character outside of Laurence Fishburne looked like they stole someone else's body for those scenes; stiff and totally uncomfortable in their own skin. And fuck Keanu Reeves. I'll never, ever buy him as a bad-ass. He was Ted, fer fuck's sake! Horrible casting for the role of Neo. Just horrible.

The only halfway palatable things in the movie were Fishburne's fighting style (slow and methodical), the twins, and the French guy in the restaurant. The rest of it can eat my ass with chopsticks.

And finally, the scene that seems to get talked about and praised the most... the quadruple millions and billions of Smiths versus Neo scene. Worst fight sequence EVER. Hated every slow-paced, poorly-choreographed, unnecessary part of it. It was just painful to watch, plain and simple.

In closing, fuck The Matrix, and all its droning, pathetic-ass sequels.

Anyone else in Pixies thinking of starting a doc thread? I've never seen the Matrix, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Speed, X-Men . . . I'm an action evader!

Sorry to hear there were those who avoided/did not enjoy The Matrix 2. My little circle were counting down in anticipation and in fact went to opening night (the first time I've ever bothered to go opening night) all decked out head to toe in black and/or leather. Resplendent in our geek plumage, we loved every minute.

I was very disappointed with the film too. It promised so much but failled to include a story line or plot.

At least it leaves a lot of explaining for the last film ;)

Let's keep in mind that it is the first 2 hours of a 4 hour movie. And there is a lot to it, not just "slo-mo fighting".

But, to get the thread back on track. I don't think the chase will be topped - for a while.

As for the choice between the women - can't I have both...at the same time? 8-)

Given what they can do with CGI now, it's pre-eminence is a

temporary thing.

Yay Trinity.

Steph, did you see "The Making of X-Men2"? LOL
