I am trying to make a slide show of some pictures that I took over the past year, anyone have a favorite program to do that?

I am hoping to find something that will make it in a format that the viewer of it does not have to buy the software as well.

thanks!

When I was working (retired now), I really liked using Freelance and you could generate and EXE version of the show so that the viewer didn't need Freelance on their machine. Allowed AVIs and Sound if you need them.

Actually, Freelance is a presentation software package, but could easily be used to create a picture slideshow. I thought it was very easy to use.

I have been playing around with Adobe Photoshop Album. You can make slideshows with music and such and then e mail them. I sent one to my Mother and I know she doesn't have the software I made it with, but she could view it.

I'm pretty sure Photoshop Album is seperate. It's Adobe's answer to iPhoto. iPhoto has built in slideshow functions for just such things. Looks like PSA is retailing around $45.
Jasc, who makes Paint Shop Pro (my personal favorite, for PCs) is also doing a Paint Shop Photo Album, at the same price point ($45-50).
See

Doesn't look like Corel has anything...
Any other products worth mentioning?

Dadaist is right, Photoshop Album is seperate from Photoshop.

I don't know why I didn't think of Adobe Photoshop Album since I have it. I guess because I haven't used it for slideshows ... yet. Only had it for a few months. I got it to provide online albums showing graphics that I have. :)

I didn't realize I could create a slideshow and then e-mail it. See, learn something new every day. :)

It's rather nifty Disckbro...give it a try :) I made a slideshow of a New Orleans vacation and added some light jazz as music. Turned out great.

Free

Slideshows, quicktime movies, soundtracks, post groups of pictures directly to a website, resize, touch up, remove red eye

Did I mention free? ;)

Sorry I think I have something caught in my throat ;)
