Sounds fun and funny! Thanks for sharing!
My cat knows what I'm spelling.......when I spell T.U.N.A.....I think because it sounds like it's spelled......so I can't even spell it around him or he'll go nuts (meowing at me till I give in). I just say, the "t word", now.....but I think he's catching on to that too! LOL! Cats can be so smart!

I used to have a cat that played fetch. I would roll up a ball of paper, throw it and she would go get it and drop it at my feet! I have had 3 cats since and tried to get each of them to play this game, but no such luck. I have to say it was pretty darn cute! The only one who fetches in my house is my 14 month old! My dog doesn't even fetch. She will get the ball and drop it about 6 feet from where you are. Hmmmmm maybe shes just trying to get me moving more!:D

Try putting a marble in a shoe. Just let them see it roll around one time.

(NO. Don't use a sandle)

LOL
Had a cat that fetched as well. Liked to fetch a rabbits foot... you could also hide it under a pillow or under the couch and he would find it and drop it at my feet so I could hide or toss it again.....

Never had another cat that would do that... :)

Our cat Garlic fetches, too. He has a foam ball that he'll keep bringing back to you to throw again for as long as you're willing to do it. If you want to initiate the game, just ask him where his ball is, he'll go hunt for it and bring it back to you. If you ask him where his "mousie" is, he'll look for that instead and then expect you to throw that for him, too. I think he must be part dog. Plus, when we come home or first get up in the morning, he rolls over on his back in a submissive position and meows for attention. My daughter spoils him rotten. I always say that I want to come back in my next life as Garlic, as long as I can still belong to my daughter. :)

It sounds like Garlic and Kiki would make a great pair!

I remember you gave me this advice for my demon kitty. Tyler came home yesterday with a toy shaped like a dart board (could I have just said a CIRCLE there? :)) and it has a ball in it on a track. It keeps the demon cat busy trying to get it out. You're smart, PF!

"...Tyler came home yesterday with a toy .... It keeps the demon cat busy trying to get it out. ..."

And a marble is cheaper. :)

can you just buy one marble? Ah well, it's Tyler's cat and his money, too!

My friends cat learned to play fetch watching them try to teach the dog how to do it. Suki felt she had to one up the dog so brought the ball back instead of the dog :)

As the (self-nominated) Pixies Pet trainer I must say that cats are great at picking up tricks if it is worth their while. I taught my parents' cat to do a recall (put on a sit stay and walk 6 feet away give the come command and he sat right in front of me..... it was cute, the most damned difficult thing was teaching him the down-stay....

Too late, we already have an overpriced toy for him. Thanks, though! ;)

Our cat, before he passed away, liked to hunt birds and bring some home for us. He'd set them on our porch to make it easy for us to find them.

We never told him that we didn't use them when deep frying chicken wings. Would have hurt his feelings, I'm sure. :)
