Well my procrastination has got me this time...I meant to transfer these to tape. Not that they could be used but it never hurts to have some proof of what you claim somebody has said...

My little guy erased all my saved messages, which were somewhat important. Does anyone have any idea if there is some way to retrieve these if they haven't been recorded over...or does digital erase cleanly? Any advice or pointers on where I may find the answers I am looking for would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on the type of chip it records to.. make sure you disconnect the phone from the machine so that it will not get overwriten then call the company you got the machine from and talk to one of their techs/engineers. They can beter advise you on how to proceed.. most import thing is to keep the power on and not allow the machine to be used until you get advice.

I know there is a way to recover the stuff and know of a person who can hack into anything and recover just about anything run by electricity, but it is usually VERY expensive in most cases. THe range of $10,000 for the most (basic memory chips, harddrives, etc..) this may be a lot more since it is a special piece of hardware and chances are a unique data structure to be decoded. Check for data restoration services in your area.. or hire a electronics hacker to do it for you... it is pretty expensive for the normal everyday people like us, but if it is important information it might be worthwhile.

Deno~ Thank you for your response. I checked with the manufacturer and of course they said there was no way to retrieve said recordings. But I will check into the data restoration angle that you mentioned. Unfortunately if it is even a fraction of what you mentioned cost wise I will be unable to persue it, but it never hurts to check. Again I appreciate your advice!:D

Good luck.. I know most people who do it usually only work for laerge corperations and law enforcement which is why they can charge so much.. maybe they can cut a deal since you are not either a large company or government agency? I really don't know.. I'll track the guy down that I know and see what he says.. it might be a long time until I can find him though, but I'll give it a try.
