Okay, this morning she comes in holding two different pregnancy test. She tells me she took one this morning and one a couple minutes ago (several hours later) they were both positive. I don't have any trouble with us having a kid, it's the possibility of a miscarriage that worries me.

About a year before we got together I experienced a miscarriage with my only other sexual partner. Then on easter my 20 y.o. dog died and she was my first dog. Since she was my ultimate baby girl, I have just recently gotten over her death. Between the two, I know that if she has a miscarriage I'm gonna freak out. How do I prepare myself for something like that?

don't think the worst... stay positive and embrace the possibility of becoming a father...

Yes, miscarriages happen...... but they don't happen to everyone..

HUGS... and congrats to both of you... a wonderful event :)

Congrats to you both. Loss is inevitable in life but just because you have experienced it before does not mean you will this time. Make sure she gets good prenatal care! Don't dwell on the worries from the past. Be excited for your future!

miscarrages are the exception not the norm,

congrats. you are a lucky guy to be able to experience this merical with the woman you love,

stop worrying and enjoy the moment.

i had a girlfriend once and she got pregnant and decided to terminate it without taking my opinion into consideration. we were planning to marry in a few months, she aborted and the relationship went down hill from there , we broke up 2 months later.

enjoy the processs of creating life, and dont harp on what can go wrong.

Have Faith and be positive in spirit...that's the best thing you can do...along with being supportive and strong for her.

Being concerned about a miscarriage is normal - especially for first time parents...

Please don't let worry cloud your blessing... good pre-natal care, healthy habits and love with see you through....

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

Silentsoul, we'll keep you and your wife in our prayers. I understand your worry, but the others are right ... miscarriages are the exception. We had, in additon to our seven living children, one miscarriage. The miscarriage was after number five, so, focus on the blessing of the baby to come! It'll be a winner, no doubt. :)
