Lilith

Hello Hello! I was thinking it might be a good idea to have a place where newbies to the site could come to get tips and helpful suggestions about how to make the most of their Pixies experience (aka. perving).
If anyone has anything they think would be helpful for someone still using their Pixies' training wheels please drop it in here!
For you newbies coming here to check things out I welcome you and look forward to smutting with you;)

#1 In the pic sections we don't *do* competition. We are all sexy, lovely, bright, wonderful people with our own assets, attributes, and charms.
#2 We have a chatroom! Look up at the top of every screen and you will see a button in the top bar. Use it!!!

4. Please remember that this is a forum board and that appropriate use of grammar/spelling is much appreicated. :)
5. Relax and enjoy yourself. Remember there is no such thing as a stupid question. :)

6. Posting can be very liberating and fun...just dive right in!

Any suggestions for those of us (new and old) who really WANT to join in the chatroom but can't get our computers to cooperate in downloading mIRC so we can use it? I have AOL, and I think that has something to do with the problem. :(
Lilith

You can click the button at the top so you don't need mIRC:p

7. Enjoy yourselves!!
8. Introduce yourself so we can get to know you
9. Poor spelling and grammer is NOT a reason for you not to post
10. Join in the conversation on any threads...we do want to hear from you (provided your polite *L*)

Posting your pics!!
When attaching pics to your thread
1. Assure that the file does not exceed the file limit (Maximum size: 152400 bytes or :152 KB)
2. Assure the file has Valid file extensions (gif jpg png txt zip bmp jpeg wav mp3)
3. If you preview your post you will have to reattach the file BEFORE submitting
4. It is much preferred if you keep the current series of pics in one thread rather than one pic per thread (of course each subsequent pic series can have its own thread if preferred)
To add another pic onto the one thread click on "post reply" then add your message and attachment...then click "submit reply"
Hope that helps :):):):):):)

:D Thank you, Lilith, re. the chatroom. But, I must confess that I am really computer illiterate. The chatroom screen looks like the "dashboard" in the cockpit of a 747 to me. Yikes! Would someone please PM me or explain here the difference in Nickserv, Chanserv/botserv, and Memoserv? Also, what the heck is all the stuff at the right of the screen...the Opcontrol and Channel modes? (Dang. Wish we all could just be on a "party line." Then all I'd have to do is pick up my phone.) :(

BlueSwede---Just a word of advice.I am certainly not a "newbie"
& I still have my training wheels.I am also still computer illiterate.
I have been a mechanic for most of my life.I had to take a night
course in keyboarding because a mechanic never had a reason to
type.Just be yourself & join in.No one here will judge you.You should enjoy yourself here. The only rule is not to fall for that"Bullshit"about PF being a nice guy.On some sites, that's what is referred to as "spam"! Irish

BlueSwede~ I encourage you to push all the buttons, see what works and what doesn't. They will only work if they are something for you. The Op controls etc. only work for those who are set to do that. If you come into chat and I am there I would be glad to help you figure it all out.:)

Custom User Status a.k.a. the text just above your avatar.
After a certain number of posts, ( I always forget how many, 30, 50 or 100) when your titles no longer reads Jr. Member, you can change your title. To do this
1) Click user cp
2) edit profile
3) right below the place to enter a birthdate about the 9th box down should be Custom User Text
4) Enter what you'd like and then scroll to the bottom and click submit modifications.

Concerning the buttons in non-mIRC chat: I usually ignore 'em. It's the typing that's important.
Concerning the boards: rule #whatever (I don't remember what we're up to): bring your sense of humor. Actually, that's a good one for the chat, too.
BlueSwede

Regarding what one types when one is in a non-mIRC chat, there is no place TO type on the screen that comes up for me when I click on "Chatroom" when I'm at the Pixie's Forums. There's no place on the screen to type like what there is, for example, on the screen when I am in a chatroom on Yahoo. There are a bunch of little boxes with options at the top, side, and bottom of a big blank box in the middle of the screen, but there is no long narrow horizontal bar in which to type an entry, which, when I would hit enter, would then appear in the big box on the screen. And there is no evidence of anyone else being present either. :(

If it is because someone is just not all that graceful with a keyboard... hey, we can see past it. We're not here to compare, grade, or judge anyone's grammatical prowess.
If, however, someone types that way in an effort to be 'clever' or what have you... please save it for the forums where it is accepted. I hav no d3sir3 2 d3cph3r posts lik3 this... u c whut I m33n.

For the newbies
We have some members who have wicked humour, you may have noticed it in this thread already eg Pantyfanatic ;)
It is all in fun so dont take it seriously, its part of the ambiance of this place. PF is actually a very decent guy who hides it behind his flippancy LOL.
The essence of pixies is to have fun, be open, be respectful and be you. There are topics that are serious and you will have differing views than others. It is OK to have a differing opinion but you must be careful to not to denigrate another person in expressing it.

Rule #XXX
When taking photos, take lots of them from all different angles, at all stages of excitement and preferably with the subject in various points of undress. And post them for all us smutters;)

That's why I get the big bucks. :D
I have some questions that I am not understanding.
1. How do I exactly put something under my name? I tried to do what Lilith said here on this thread but didn't see a space for it.
2. Where do I go to check someone's profile? I don't see a button for that either.
3. What is that "Is there Love in the Air?" thing at the bottom of people's post? I see I am in love with everyone here. Probably true. LOL

1. Go to 'User CP'
Then to 'Edit Profile'
Scroll down to 'Custom User Text'
Type what you want in the 'New Title' box
Then scroll down and click 'Submit Modifications'
2. On the front page just click on the person name
In threads. click on the 'Profile' button under their post.
3. It is based on some mathematical mumbo jumbo...it will give you a chance of love between you and the person who's love button you clicked (a complete waste of space i reckon :D )
If ya need further assisstance dont hesitate to ask
Lilith

It's called Custom User text and you have to have a certain number of posts (100) before you can change it. Until you have reached that amount the option does not appear in your Edit Profile area.
Thanks lilith, I shall get to posting right away then. :D
I've been seeing alot of BUMPs and THUDs in some series of pics, is this an inside thing or does it have some secret meaning? Thanks in advance!

"BUMP" is simply a quick way of pushing a thread to the top of the forum. It's SFL (Standard Forum Lingo).
maddy
09-08-2004, 10:48 PM
and THUD is the sound of one's jaw hitting a surface, say a desk.

Ok thanks. SFL? I've posted in alot of forums and never have heard that one, usually mods don't like that because threads die for a reason.
But I guess this isn't a normal form for hobbyists lol.

Mods are everywhere! They are omnipresent! They never miss a question, reply, post or new thread!
Never fear Jayman...the answer will come in due time!
Oh Gawd...I've gotta get out of here before I get my ass kicked by the peeps with the tall walk and the big stick!
NOTE TO SELF: If you think it...doesn't mean you have to type it!

Lilith may not be the only sadist here. :D
I am a research geek and will add a legitimate point to this thread. We all come here for a million different reasons but it appears many come because they have a question.
There is a search button at the top of the page and you may find your answer there first. Of course, you may have another spin on the topic and I'm sure that would be welcome but if you find an old thread, the oldies on the site do love a good "bump" down memory lane, so go ahead and add to the existing thread 'stead of creating a new one.
Lilith

So what is a registered user compared to a jr member?
All it means is that you are now capable of editing your own custom user status <the little blurb by your name> After 30 posts you can do that. You are at 31 posts and if you go to user CP on the left at the top, then edit my profile on the left, it should be one of your options.
My apologies to you for not answering sooner.

Just got here, thought I'd stop by and say hi and that I look forward to learning and growing and maybe a few inspirational orgasmic ideas.
Let me go scout around this place, get to know the layout. Might like to expose a few story ideas but i'm still in the early stages of learning such art.

[REALLY BIG BUMP]
The thread was already sticky, so I hope no one minds my question. :o
I was reading over my story and I noticed a couple things that I thought could use refining. I went down to where the "Edit" button usually is, and I couldn't find it.
Is it possible to edit your stories after you've posted them? If so, how do you go about doing it?
Thanks in advance. :)

Yes, but there is a limited time period as with all posts. Afterwards you can contact wyndhy or myself and we will be glad to help with corrections.
Adam Webber
09-25-2008, 11:23 AM
Ah, I see. Should I do that via PM, or a thread?
Lilith
09-25-2008, 05:00 PM
PM one of us with the corrections you need. Thanks!
Adam Webber
09-26-2008, 12:13 AM
PMs sent. I'm really sorry there are so many corrections; I didn't really realize how many there were until I started to list them all out. :o
As I said in the PM, I'll be sure to let any other stories sit in my documents folder a little while, so I can work out those little quirks before I post the story.
Thanks a lot for your help. :)
