View Full Version : Illinois people!

I did a thread of all midwesterners, but since there's now one for Ohioans only, I figured I'd do one for Illinoisans only.

Okay, nothing's changed for me. Still live in SW DuPage county, Illinois and still work in west suburban Cook. For those that don't know that's the county just west of Chicago, and the one that surrounds Chicago, respectively.

Chicago is that still part of the state. Hello for East Central Il.

Yes well, I know a lot of people who wouldn't mind kicking it into the lake, and Daley with it. :)

I claim Wisconsin as home, am now stuck in Missouri, but my roots are in Illinois. (I was born and raised in Rockford and went to SIU-Carbondale, so I've spent time at both ends of the state.)

From chicago northwest suburb here. Moved here 5 years ago from the East.

I think a tad and a smidgen are similar, just a wee bit different ... kinda like a gnat's eyelash if you know what I mean.

BTW, if you do know, could you explain it to me? :D :D

Are you sure you didn't mean TADS?

(methodology for programming text-only adventures for those who don't know, with an HTML-TADS variant for including images, etc.)

Hey IceLore, I moved to Ohio almost 3 years ago from Joliet. My sister is a cop in Romeoville, and my brother in law is a Cook County Deputy. My whole family lives in Illinois still....lol. I was there in Jan visiting them. What area of Joliet do you live in?

I assume you mean downtown loop. There's just about any taste available (not to mention any price range!), but as most of the loop is also the business/financial district, not much stays open LATE.
I'd suggest checking www.metromix.com for restaurants - I was able to use it last summer to meet up with a lady friend at a bar near where she was staying, though it took a little work.

I'm from Oak Brook. It's been a long time since I posted but didn't realize how many people on this board were from Illinois.

I've got an old co-worker who likes to "experiment" from time to time. Maybe one of the women here would like to "experiment" with her one of these days.

hey dicksbro come to peoria much?

dicksbro
02-26-2007, 06:24 AM
Yeah, fairly often. I suspect at least once a week and some weeks several times. Got a daughter and her family in Peoria and a son in Peoria Heights. Matter-of-fact, I was just in Washington a week or two ago for a funeral service at St. Patricks.

One day this coming spring (I hope it's coming), I think IowaMan is going to be heading over this way and we might meet and do lunch. If he does and you'd like, I'll PM you and let you know so maybe you can join us if you'd like.

No date or place yet. Talked about everything from the Burger Barge to the Cracker Barrel ... or ... well ... someplace. :)

dicksbro
02-27-2007, 05:21 AM
I-74 looks good. If only they could have widened the Murray-Baker bridge to six lanes and extended six lanes all the way to the juncture with I-155. Oh well, that'd probably double the cost of the project and then some.

Still, I-74 looks good.. A good job that significantly changes the look and feel of going through Peoria.
