Okay, here's the deal - name a film (or films) you like, and why - state format (VHS, DVD, etc), actors/actresses, and availability.

I'll start with a couple of examples:

Title: Shane's World Vol. 32 - Campus Invasion
Format: DVD (2 disc set)
Availability - shanesworld.com or other online adult DVD shops.
Released - Nov. 2002
Cast: Belladonna, Calli, Malorie, Evalyn, Mr. Marcus, Tex

This is the movie shot at IU's Bloomington, Indiana campus that made international news after the university found out and threatened lawsuits. DVD version includes a bonus disc with behind the scene interviews, a couple of lost, cut scenes, and some other stuff. Worth it for the extras alone. Plot? None really, the girls just play around on the IU campus, in dorms, frat houses, and start with an appearance at the campus radio station. Still, you can tell they had a good time. Oh and obviously the movie is filled with "extras" from around campus, but only those people who signed releases have their faces showing, everyone else is blurred out (even, and especially, restaurant staff, where they film during dinner a couple of times).

Now here's the hard part - trying to give a rating - I think it's worth owning, but not everyone may agree. If you know someplace that rents recent adult DVD releases inexpensively, go for it.

"There is a saying "be careful what you wish for because you might just get it" Well, I am glad I am not careful. Long and often I have voiced my wish for hardcore porn that had top of the range production values, intelligent direction, decent acting performances in a plotline that neither embarrassed your intelligence nor held up the sex. Porn that was thought through, porn that got down and got very, very dirty - but for a reason - porn where women were not automatons but loved the sex, couldn't get enough of the sex, and no one pouted dead-eyed to camera. And now I have it. On my DVD player as I type. It is fabulous. It is everything I ever hoped porn might be. It is John Stagliano's flag fluttering on the very peak of the Everest of porn. It is "The Fashionistas" - a 4 hour and 40 minute epic, classily conceived and shot on 35mm film, a unique (in porn) and wonderful extravagance which you can see in every frame of every fuck. It has characters who you are interested in as well as just lust after. The script even has wit! The sex is not just sex it is serious fucking. It is dirty and animal, it gets rough and it gets incredibly inventive. Stagliano has got himself one of the most creative mixes of female physicality I have ever seen in a porn movie and most get there moment on the end of an impressive erection. Talking of which, the film stars Rocco Siffredi with the gorgeous Taylor St Clair as a designer dominatrix with a thing for smothering and the ass and tits to indulge it to the max. Stagliano fuels your dreams for months to come (and come and come) with some of the best performed and best shot fucking I have seen. Access all areas and this cast really look like they are enjoying themselves. Fans of the blowjob will enjoy some deep throat to make your jaw drop (although not as far as the charismatic and delightfully dangerous looking Belladonna's does) and boys who like girls who like girls can look forward to some of the best lesbian scenes on celluloid... seat-warmingly sexy, with an edge of violence, some brutally beautiful bondage and a scene involving a vast crystal dildo during which I do not remember breathing once. Everything about this film is good. It even has a decent soundtrack. Stagliano - who wrote, directed, and produced it - should be given a knighthood for services to a wrongly denigrated art form. In the meantime he and his film have been nominated for a record 22 Awards by the AVN. Every single one from Best Film to Best Anal Scene is richly deserved. Buy this film now... Staglioni and Siffredi spent a fortune making it, they deserve the revenue and you deserve the pleasure. Title 2: Gina Wild - Durchgefickt - jetzt wird's schmutzig 4 (thorougly fucked - now it's getting dirty #4)

Casts - unavailable on packaging except for the two 'stars'

#1 is a straightforward story, scandal in a girl's school, lots of sex, all in German. Printed runtime of 100 minutes (or 1:40).
#2 features a branching story - you can move around through different scenes. There's also a little bit of advertising, but it can be safely skipped. Behind the scenes shows some still images with several of the sex scenes in the background. There's also a featurette featuring Gina, but mostly just going through poses and some brief interviews. Again, virtually all in German (except for the one Swedish accent who can't speak a word of German, and thus communicates to the others in English). :)

Ratings - #1 - okay, good for a couple of views.
#2 might be worth a couple more viewings than #1, for the featurette and to make sure you got through every branch of the feature.
Knowledge of German not really necessary for either, though it never hurts. ;)

"Int Tel Sex Game" with more video clips (if it's a game, it's very easy to find menu "hot spots" ;) ). Award Winning Sex, showing clips from other movies for which Vivid has received awards. Cyber Sex shows a woman hooked up to wires, connected to a computer (I think we've got that beat just doing what we do in our chatrooms - er aHEM sorry - but come on, get naked and THEN hook up wires? I don't think so ;) ). Previews - of 'Sex Show' and "Blonde Justice."

I think a second Extreme Sex was done, but haven't seen it. This one takes plae in a sex club, and gets the "extreme" name for featuring some spanking, some fairly serious candle wax, a shaving scene (legs and pussy), a foot fetish scene, and a black latex scene. But the real reason I got it was that a few of the sex scenes feature multi-angle cameras. An icon will appear when they are available, and you can choose from up to four different views.

Certainly worth watching a couple of times to get all the angles, and going through all the bonus material.

dadist...thanks for the tip on Shane's world. Me and the wife rented it last night. Overall it was pretty entertaining...lol. And the scene w/ tex and the college girl was HOT!!! I recommend it too!

We also rented "Women seeking Women" by girlfriendfilms. that was good too. Not as hard core as Shanes World, but not soft core either. The scenses were more intimate (lots of kissing), they took their time getting to where they were going. But the women had some pretty intense orgasms which was pretty hot.

I saw this movie a few nights ago. It is a parody of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and follows that very well. It is very messed up at times. If you like a bit of hot 70s Porno Chic, then you must must must see Henry Paris's 'The Opening Of Misty Beethoven' which has sexy babes with real boobs and pubic hair (I'd give all my shoes to charity if I could look as foxy as Constance Money for just one day). There's excellent acting from Jamie Gillis (who comes across like a porno Cary Grant), big budget sets (Paris, Rome and New York) & an excellent script with hilarious dialogue.

The whole thing's based on Pygmalion / My Fair Lady and it's about a snooty libertine (Jamie Gillis) who decides to turn a common hooker (Constance Money) into a sexual sophisticate. They live in a surreal & funny world where on aeroplanes the air hostesses offer you head and you get the choice of "fucking or non-fucking" when you board your flight.

The only things that let it down are that there are too many blowjobs for my liking and, because it's the '70s, they don't seem to have realised that a girl needs more than a cursory tongue-waggle down below and a cock inside her to get off. (I find myself shouting things at the screen like, "Come on boys! It's not THAT difficult to find. I'll even draw you a map.")

But the performers really do look like they're having a great time rather than just holding on till the pay cheque arives (like they do in most modern pornos). This is the only porno I've ever watched more than once (I've seen it 4 times now).

Ah, well - I'm very fond of the Dadaists & the Surrealists. I'm involved in a kind of erotic conceptual arty type of thing, called Porno-Kunst International, and I guess our main influences are the "Post-Porn Modernism" of Annie Sprinkle or Cossi Fanni Tutti but with a lot of the fun of Dada and Fluxus thrown in for good measure.

Well I had my own personal involvement in a dada revival/revue in Germany in 1993, and Blue Man Group have said they owe a bit of their performance to dada ideas (I've seen them once, not long after they opened here in Chicago). There's supposed to be some other group that does dada-like revues in the city, but I've not had a chance to go.

Maybe it's time to start an art thread before we get WAY off topic here? ;)
