to David Bloom, I think the best, most talented reporter of everything we have endured for the past 10 years. He was gifted, reporting in a style that was comprehensable to just about anyone who heard his reports.

He knew the dangers of being with the 3rd Army Division as they pierced their way toward Baghdad, the inevitable confrontation looming just over the horizon, and he embraced the mission, it was his life. It was what he did best.

He died of an embolism, natural cause, not from enemy fire.

I trusted his reporting, he seemed to give the complete story of what was going on around him.

We'll miss him..........

It is sad that he would be so far from home and loved-ones. My sincere hope is for his family and friends will be comforted knowing he was doing what he loved to do.

Heart goes out to all who died or were injured in Iraq and the middle east.

What happend to him was very tragic. He will be missed.

One of the soldiers that was with him when he died was killed this Sunday. This soldier was from my home town and will be equally missed.

I also take my hat off to Michael Kelly, the 'Atlantic Monthly' editor who died . . . a lot of wonderful journalists and photographers gave up their lives to report this war, as did many wonderful soldiers.
