Just want to say that we too remember the sacrifices your country has made. At 11:11 a.m., I will take pause and think of your Memorial Day and remember our Northern Brothers.

yes, I agree... Canadians deserve recognition for what they have endured to become the nation they are today... Hope that Canada experiences a peaceful memorial day and that Canadians take the opportunity to remember how important they are in the world.
Thanks PF. :)

Many thanks to the one country who has stood by us in every crisis. May our international friendship last eternal!

It's nice to see some of you people considering our side, I just hope that more people think that way in the future, and I for one very much appreciate and return your thoughtfulness

I've got to say I definately agree with that sentiment. They've been through the wringer too. They also deserve some recognition and thanks from us.
So, THANKS!!!!! :)
Memorial Day???
News to me! We celebrate our heroes on November 11th, Remembrance Day!
But this is a special day, one of our warships limped home today carrying a wounded helicopter.

Thanks for the sentiments, as a Canadian patriot.
I support the U.S. fully and thank God that the world's greatest power rests with a country that is so just and democratic. Thank God!!!!!!!!
And when the day comes, that our two countries become one (it has to happen sometime) I will be the foremost AMERICAN patriot!!!!!!!!!!!

I received a PM from a sweet lady requesting that I get my head out of my ass. It was brought to my attention that this is NOT Memorial Day for Canada.
As well as being incredibly embarrassed, I am sincerely sorry for any confusion or offence I have caused.:(
I took this information from my Micro Soft Outlook 2000 (9.00.2711) Calendar. It allows me to add holidays for countries other than the USA to which I have added Canada among others. It DOES show “March 1, 2003” as “Memorial Day (Canada)”. Knowing that a number of your comparable observances, like Thanksgiving, are at a considerably different time, I did not question it.:o
This calendar shows me many obscure adherences such as Feb. 15- Spring Festival (Lunar New Year) (Hong Kong), Feb. 17-Family Day - Provincial Alberta (Canada), Feb. 6- Waitangi Day (New Zealand), that I am not familiar with and I chose to act without confirming this one.
Please consider this thread like you do with anything else I say and totally disregard it.

I know it can’t be saying what I’m reading ….. and sure as hell not from the source it’s stated from.
My only thought on the matter is NO!NO!NO!...NEVER!
Being quite young and VERY ignorant right after returning from the service with a freshly washed and drip-dried brain firmly seated in an ethnocentric head, I had this same thought. After seasoning with a few decades of honest observation and adding a little less self centeredness, I can’t find much to make it even close to and equitable transaction.
This forum isn’t intended or big enough state ALL the reason I feel this way. The only justifiable fantasy for this is that the Canadian ladies I’ve met could seem closer to me.:D I’ve cum, … I mean come to like their heads as well as their bodies.:p

(in honour of my Canadian neighbors, rabbit stands to sing...)
O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

LMAO PF.....told you already LOL......The Great Karnac or maybe it was Gertrude and Heathcliffe (two seagulls, flying over Miami) ;)
Actually it has been rumored for years that Canada and the USA will unite into one country.......seems Quebec was wanting to separate and join the United States at one point in time.....but that is a thread in itself!
Just a bunch of bunk in my opinion :)
