I Go back to CHINA & VIETNAM next month

I am going back to CHina and Vietnam next month with my hubby. I'll be in Beijien for one week, Shanghai for one week, and Hubei for one week and then heading south to Vietnam. I'll have more information about Yao Ming later on. I am going to visit my family there.

I don't know Yao personally, but a lot of the guys from my floor are from the Houston area and so they are big Rockets fans, and I'm a Rockets fan as well. I enjoy watching him play. For someone who is 7'5 he is incredibly athletic. He's the son of a 6'7 father and 6'4 mother who bothed played basketball for the chinese national team. Apparently the village he comes from is near mongolia and there are dozens of men taller than 7 feet in the village, so all of you ladies here who like size, go to that village!!! ;)

there are some people in here wondering about Yao Ming's height and his family's height. I just want to clear out a few points in here.

To tell you the true, I am not supprise by their height at all. I was there in Northern China; I see in my own eyes. I see my in law family and every other family that I know in Northern China when I was there. SO I don't feel supprised by Yao Ming's family or himself's height.

Yup! I know Yao Ming is from Shanghai, but do you know that most Shanghainese are not Shanghainese. Most people in SHanghai were original came from all over the place from CHina. Because Shanghai is a big and very economic city. THat is why a lot of people like to stay there. That is why most people in Shanghai were original from Beijien(a lot), Zhi Ling, Wuhan, Dong Bei, Shan Dong, and etc....there are also alot from Guong Dong(which is Cantonese) and other souuthern area.

But mostly Shanghainese people are much more from Beijien or Dong Bei ren or Shan Dong ren. So from these places people are huge, I mean Mega big, Mega tall. In the past I had date so many guys from these places. And they are unbeliveable tall.

For example my my husband and his family. My husband was born in Hubei, but his family is not Hubei ren, his family original from Beijien. His father is Beijienese who lived in Hubei and met his mother is Hubeinese . So that is why my hubby is very tall and his brothers even taller than my hubby. But that doesn't mean Hubei ren is not all, most Hubei ren is much taller than us in Vietnam or Cantonese. But the supper tall and Mega tall Hubei ren is from Beijien or DOng Bei, or SHan dong etc...There are many northern areas that i didn't mention here.

For example, Hongkong. IF you know the original Hongkongnese people, you will know that they are short, and just like those Cantonese people in Vietnam or Vietnamese. But if you see a tall HongKongnese people, you asked them, mostly they said, they are not HOngkongnese, they either came from Beijien, Shanghai, Shang DOng, Dong bei and etc....from the mainland. SO as I said, most Hongkongnese people were not from HOngkong, they came from all over the place in CHina. Some of them came from Canton(Guong Dong) which is short, coz they are Cantonese, not a lot of Cantonese are tall.

Here are the reason and the different why they are taller than us.

My hubby keep telling me that, the northern Chinese they hardly eat RICE, they mostly eat "men" which is noddles(flour noddle not RICE noodles) These northern CHinese love to eat those baked "Man Tou" Umm..I love Man Tou. Man Tou and other northern CHinese food, their food much protein and stronger than us eat "RICE" the northern CHinese hardly eat rice, I don't know why, but those northern places people love eating mang tou, and flour noodles and baking stuffs.

so us from Cantonese or Vietnam, we love eating rice, we couldn't live without rice. SO rice has less protein than flour. We all know that. So same as White American in here, they hardly eat rice, they eat flour more, no wonder you see white people are taller than us from southern China. But if you take a northern Chinese to compare with White American, you will be supprise to see some white guy even shorter than Chinese. so this is one of the reason Northern Chinese and white American eat flour other than rice like us in Southern Chinese.



another reason why they are taller than us Cantonese, what I think is may be the Northern Chinese is living in Northern area, where the weather is much colder and cold usually you can't sweat. If you can't sweat, you build up a lot of fat and other can't burn it off. May be that is another reason. But i am not sure about this reason. I am only sure about the reason that they eat "flour'' more than eat rice. We eat rice more than eat flour.

But do you know that, those Northern Chinese people now can get taller than their expect. Coz now China is richer than the past, people eat more and more protien milk. That is why now you can see more people taller than the past Northern Chinese.

If you want to know how tall my father in law is ? He is 6'3 and at the time he was born was during the community time when China was so poor. Even my hubby was born at that time as well. coz my hubby is 32 years old. SO you can predict our kids later on.
Dam! they was born in the poor time, but they are 6'0 and over, now they are richer, the kids would be taller than 6'0. That is why I was in love with Mandarin man. A lot of my Cantonese friends got jealouse at me coz i date mandarin man, coz I do speak Mandarin. but too bad my Cantonese friends most of them can't speak Mandarin.

anyway my hubby was born in Hubei, China, but he went to Beijien's University and he lived there before. if you want to know where Hubei is, Hubei is even more north than Shanghai. It between SHanghai and Bejien.


so I am not supprised by Yao Ming's height.
As my hubby said, Yao Ming comes here, he will eat more and more protein than when he was a baby, he could grow a bit taller and stronger and muscel. Otherwise he looks like a CN tower.

and yes, my Cantonese girl friends and boyfriends got jealouse at me coz I date so many Mandarin men who are tall and strong. I never date any Cantonese people, coz I do like bigger size.

do you know in Asia from those oriental countries, China has the most tallest people and huge people compare to those oriental countries like Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Singapore and etc....

so ladies if you want to date Asian guy who is big, to should pay attention to those northern Chinese guys. Yup! they have big ding dong as well:D

by the way most of the Chinese people in NOrth America or over sea are mostly those Cantonese or from the southern part of China(like me), not from NOrthern China. That is why you don't see a lot of tall and Mega Chinese in here.

I know her parents are from Shanghai, I've never asked her about grandparents. (Also, she's the smallest of the batch--she has 3 sisters that are taller)
To me, 5'6" isn't small for an oriental. For the most part I can see over the heads of those around me when we go visiting, although the current generation seems taller.

Northern Chinese are very tall and huge if you compare to other asian and southern asian.

I have never been to China. The closest I have been to Northern China was Kazakhstan. I did go to Ho Chi Minh city. It was awesome! I had the best time there! At 185cm and about 105Kg I sure did get a lot of stares :)
