Spreading Like Herpes Through a College Dorm

Making the Pixies quiz got me thinking about membership here.....

Between 4/29/01 and 8/02 (roughly 16 months) membership rose to 10,000. From 8/02 - 1/03(6 months) we added 5,000 more (almost.....remember I suck at Math) now reaching almost 15,000 members. A huge jump!!!!


Mr. Lilith attributes this to word of mouth.....What do you think? Do you give out the url and refer people? I can say with my head hung low that I have only brought one person......Summer. But I refer people in tha chat room often so I guess I'll count them :p


Can you 'splain this to me? Any ideas? or nobody cares but me?:D:D:p

We all care. I've turned some people to here but don't see any either login in or just lurking. This is a wonderful site the people that I've met and talk to are great and caring. I can see why it has grown so fast and with lovely ladies such as yourself( maybe extra brownie points) it can only grow more. Thanks for the soap box

I think I would tend to agree with your hubby, Lilith. I personally came here via a link from another site (can't even remember which, now) bit I've introduced my g/f to it (the more observant will know who that is!!) and I know she's told at least 2 of her friends!

The pity of it all is, IMHO, that so few of the 15 thousand post at all, never mind regularly ~ I know a lot of people don't feel like it, for various reasons, but come on people, GIVE IT A GO!!!

Took me quite a while to lose my posting "cherry" .... but I love it now :D !

I think when people do stop by, they're simply impressed with how open and friendly a site Pixies is. And, when you see that, you tend to want to hang around.

As far as the posting goes ... I know I'm naturally shy and tend to live a sheltered life ... so the reluctance to post and express myself is very natural for me.

( Plus, when i'm holding the mouse in one hand and part of me in the other, it's hard to type. :D :D )

I think hubby is on to something Lilith! I was brought to Pixies by my hubby, and then I introduced a friend (SUPERPIPE) to it just recently. I always ask, in chat, if the newbies have registered and if they say no I tell them it's worth the effort, it's painless and it's free. Nine times outta ten they go and give it a whirl! So.....yes! I agree with Mr. Lilith........and he told two friends and they told two friends and so on and so on..............

Also at some point in there Pixies changed chat rooms......so I think like you said Lixy people have been invited to join.

I go along with DB on this one...I haven't "brought" anyone here, but we've all been extra friendly to newbies (I know of one I like to think I "rescued" when they thought they'd stepped over some invisible line), we've kept it mostly flame-free by weeding out the real assholes, overall making it a real friendly place where people wanna come & stay...

& credit for all that has to go to our fine mods, & of course the Boss who chose them & let us all play here for free...

Just throwing my two cents in. In my short time here, I've found everyone extremely friendly and open-minded, and I've felt welcome from my first posting on. In reviewing some things in the archives, I find *very* few instances of flaming, compared to some other sites I've seen (sex-type boards or otherwise).

I appreciate all of the above.

I chat through Yahoo, MSN, ICQ and I pass the URL to Pixies on all aver the place using all three *LOL*....Other chatrooms, if i feel it appropriate i will pass on the addie...

In the Yahoo groups...I drop the link so ppl can come share the excellent Pixies experience...

I haven't told MANY people about pixies by name of the site.It's
hard to understand(You have to know me,personally)but I feel too
protective about pixies and the confidents that I have met here.
The people that I haven't told are nice people but I don't think that they are sincere enough to be pixies members.In other words,I don't think that they deserve Pixies.Like most people that I know,they are too judgemental! Irish

I found Pixies while looking for erotic stories. I am so glad I did. I spent quite a while just browsing, but finally decided to become a member and submit my own posts. Now, I'm not sure what took me so long? Oh well, I'm here now.:)
