View Full Version : Update on Job Interview
Grumble

I had a good interview, have a good chance from my impressions. It is between me and another guy who is yet to be interviewed. The others have been passed over. I know the owner of the business actually, he went to school with my sister and his parents have been friends of my parents for 40 years or so. It is often a case of who you know rather than what you know, so my chances are boosted. Still I know not to count the chickens before they hatch. If I get the job it will start mid January.
Thanks everyone for the nice messages :)
Xanne said she was rooting for me LOL. The is the best offer I have had for ages and I accept. I can't wait for your trip down under.
BTW to root in Australian slang is to fuck so you can see why I am so happy.
Happy Christmas everyone.

Congrats (((GG)))
Will keep my fingers and bits crossed that you get the position :D
Shoot Grumble, You shouldn't have mentioned what 'rooting' means down there until you gave folks on this site a moment to ponder what the bloody hell you were talking about. :p
I met an Aussie that came to the states (to compete in a sporting event) and was quite dumbfounded when someone said "We'll be rooting for ya!" His jaw just dropped! We didn't know what the big deal with that was until he explained it... It was pretty durned funny. :D
That is good news about the interview, though! I'll keep saying prayers for you.

Congrats, Grumble!
"Rooting", huh? Is there anything else we yanks need to know?
(I guess if I said I was "pulling for you" it wouldn't be any better, would it?)

lol yeah pulling does have a slightly different meaning lol(New Zealanders have similar slang to Australians)- down under it would mean sumthing along the lines of masterbation lol,
Good Luck GG :)
Good luck GG. As I've said before, I'll keep my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed for ya mate!!!
