This is for all you non Aussies out there

How often have you been chatting to an aussie or read an article or story by an aussie and been totally lost and confused by the lingo.... er, language used . Well here's a couple of sites that will help you get up to speed so you don't feel like a complete drongo when some dinki di ocka lays some strine on you . :p :p :p

Nikki.............COOEE! We can chinwag now! I'm going through the alphabet and I'll be up to speed in no time! I don't feel such the drongo now. Although I may go on an earbash....but then I am known for that! So, gimme a fair go at this. This could get me pretty knackered, or mad as a cut snake! So if I start to bug ya...tell me to nick off luv. I'll just have a walkabout and cool off. Hope I don't run into any dingos!

The crazy thing about slang--no matter where you live--is the definitions change CONSTANTLY.

Plus, I bet a lot of Aussies don't know many of the slang words, like many Americans don't know many American slang words.

Then it breaks down to ethnic culture slang.....

Slang is crazy, but I love it!

slang comes from all over here in America slang changes from state to state people from the north have a hard time understanding people from the south and the other way around

the one reason American slang seem to travel better is because of movie from here are seen all over the world and we don't see many of them from out side the states
