Police have seized items from a sex exhibition in Belgium after the country's self-styled king of porn complained they were too kinky.

The entrepreneur, who calls himself Dennis Black Magic, complained to police about the graphic content of the exhibition in Mechelen.

He was unhappy the exhibits on view included material that he is prevented by law from selling.

Six items from the Porno Around the World exhibition have been seized by police and handed over to the local magistrate as a result.

Items include graphic videos of people having sex, including some sent in by members of the public in the town.

Frank Vennekens, spokesman for the attorney's office, has defended the magistrates decision to confiscate the items.

"It was all too kinky. The cultural centre of Mechelen has to obey some rules when organising a porn exhibition," he told De Morgen.

"And when a porn king tells us he is shocked by some pictures, we certainly will investigate the case."

Vennekens says the exhibition will be allowed to remain open but the organisers could face a jail term of up to six months and a £1,600 fine.
