I am concerned about the recent things that happened here. I can see that Pixies is no more what is used to be. The friendly, respectful place has seen an earthquake.
The result was the loss of important members. Probably there have been different opinions about what to do, I do not know that.
But I want to tell you that I think that your decision was right to ban the questionable member. I think that her behaviour was disrespectful: she seized all the attention to her person, without looking what others think.
I have been talking to another member that is rather experienced with moderation jobs. He agreed.
Perhaps the banned member would have taken some more time, but I think soon she would have given us more reasons for the throw-out.

GS - There are behind the scenes issues that have not come to light as well. Suffice it to say, I think we should respect the decision that was made by long time members, who have been given the duty to moderate this forum, versus someone that was a member for only two days.

Just my opinion. But I think all hairpulling and pinching in the schoolyard about this should end.

All I have to say is that our moderators ROCK! They are the backbone of the site and they do the "dirty work" that no one else would dare to do. Keep on rocking sexy mods! ;)

I am going to make a brief statement about what has occurred.

Recently I banned a new member. She was banned for 2 reasons.

1) because when I tried to speak with her about something I got a VERY hostile reaction and really bad attitude. I tried to smooth things over but could see it was not going to improve.

2) another Moderator had information regarding her having been banned from at least one other site and the behavior and tensions that were beginning to rise were examples of this. Since this we have had members who believe they have run ins with her elsewhere come forward.

We made a decision to act in what we believed to be in the best interest of this site. I banned her and her threads were deleted because it makes little sense to post to people who are no longer here.

The moderators here deal with conflict and tension here everyday of one kind or another most of which goes on behind the scenes. This situation became public and I know that people are confused and that is the only reason i am addressing it. Many people seem to think there is more involved in this situation but I can assure you that it was a decision that all the moderators have agreed upon.

No one is more sad than me about the reaction this has caused. people I cared about deeply have left and it breaks my heart. Pixies will limp around for a bit, I am sure of that, but I know that it will recover. The decisions that were made were made to protect the site and although it has been unpopular with some it has already proven to be the right decision.
