Greek?
Got to thinking this morning about college fraternities and sororities...how many of you joined one and which one did you join? And why?
ME: Tau Kappa Epsilon WHY: Because I wanted to make some new friends in a new town in a new phase of my life. What about you? |
I was in one but it was an honor one and I was not at all active. I can't even remember the name. I didn't look at it the same as your traditional fraternity. My school was too small to have any affilliated.

I don't think Canadian schools have frats. People stayed in the same dorms but it was a minor affiliation at best. There weren't any initiations or anything. The only thing comparable is the Engineering School frosh weeks. The first years are driven to some field somewhere & given beer & floggings. They then get that secretive ring. And they build stuff. :)

Interesting, Rabbit. I was also in Tau Kappa Epsilon ... Beta Chapter. I joined, like you, in large measure to make friends for my time in college. It was a great experience although, when I got married while still in college, my involvement waned.

I rushed Delta Gamma my freshman year and got in, but then let my membership lapse...too much money and too much of a time commitment for a poor schmuck who worked her way through school.
But I still like DG sisters! |
It's a little scary to see TKE brothers here. At my campus, they're the sketchy frat where you're not really sure if you should go to their parties. :)

Believe me, you'd have wanted to come to our parties! :D |
Lambda Chi Alpha.
My Dad was a Lamdba Chi, as were two of my older cousins. Joined for the "legacy", plus the chapter where I joined fit my personality and ethics. On a side note, Lambda Chi Alpha is an "international" fraternity, with 3 chapters for our friends north of the border to join. |
Never joined one...why? As the Eagles put it so well, "The Greeks don't want no Freaks"...
