It's not because the sex wasn't great (it was). But we didn't really love nor cared for each other. It was just a physical thing. Since then I've had relationships where the sex was great and we mattered to and respected each other. I would have loved my first time to have both. That would have made the memory more special.

I mean it was good, and it taught me lots, but if i had it to do again I would not have had sex until the girl im with now. The first time I had sex, is the only regret I have in my life. First, I was waaaayyy too young, only 13 years old. Second, I had been sipping off a few bottles after my girlfriends parents went to bed and was a little tipsy. Third, it was with a guy I had known only one night. And last but not least, I lost my virginity on some wooden stairs at a cabin. OUCH!!! If I got to do it over again, it would have been with my first love, a relationship that lasted seven years. I would have waited and made sure it was all about love. I can seperate sex from love and I can now have a one night fling without thinking twice, but the first time should be with someone that loves you.

You see, my first wasn't a one-nighter, it was (we thought) true love. Didn't last but 6 mos., but very intense, now I see we were both very inexperienced. For years, I had fantasies about showing each other what we had learned, but there would be no way we could get together without the baggage of all the hurts that came after. And now I have seen & spoken to her, (she works at a certain ubiquitous home improvement store with big orange signs,) and I can safely say, I don't feel anything but glad I stayed with the LOML!

My first I definitely wouldn't do over. One night stand... I thought it would be more, but I was just young and stupid. If I wasn't happily married now though, I'd consider sex again with my first long term boyfriend.
