I prefer the good old fashion shoe.Though this may leave sand in your bed and is probably more aggrivating than the ants.As for what freaks me out I realy hate locusts. Those exosceleton freaks of nature should be cast down into the lungs hell where they can all burn and POP like corn while I giggle and grind my teeth.

get ant traps then go out side and find the ant hills buy some cherry bombs and put then in the ant hills and blow them up heheheh thats fun now go to an gardening store and find a fertilizer that says it kills ants and grubs and spred it all over your lawn may take a week to kill them all but it works

In Europe they sell bait cans that you have to place over their streets. They get a little poisened food, carry it to their breed and feed it with it. After some days they die out. Works very well.

I got some of them with the sander but I dunno.... I do have several types of fireworks.....

if you can plant things outside, there is a bush that you can get that needs tha ants to survive. I'm not sure about the spelling but it's called a pienne bush. has a real big pretty flower. but it will take a year to bloom. but it works great.

Or look for the nests and pour boiling water into.

find the nests and if they are in the ground away from the house pour petrol (gasoline) in the hole and remove the can well away from the area and strike a match and throw it on the petrol soaked ground. Dig down a bit after the initial flames have died down and that will allow air to get down further. I use this method to get rid of an agressive ant called a jackjumper that causes very bad alergic reactions and even death here. Mylate dad had to have an injection of adrenilin nearby as the anaphylatic reaction when bitten nearly killed him twice.

Borax powder that the ants carry back to there nest is very effective too but not nearly as much fun as burning the bastards LOL

A jack-jumper, Guts? Never heard of them, but glad you've kept them to the apple isle.

Ants tend to be meat or sugar eaters.

Ant traps, ie bowls with icecream sticks leading to them with either honey or bacon

or perhaps fried chicken skin in the bowl and touched to the stick can be successful.

They are chemical free because as soon as the bowl is well populated with

ants, a quick hit of boiling water and you have culled hundreds.

Repeat until population below problem levels.

Grumble is right on the gasoline(outside)but it's not to practical
in your bedroom.A buddy of mine was a lineman in upper New York state. He visited one summer(married my wifes best friend)and my mother-in-law was having trouble with wasps;outside her
back window.(under eaves)He sprayed the nest with an aerosol
can;that they issued the lineman. She was never bothered by them;in that spot;again.I don't know the name or if it works on anything other then flying insects.Sorry. Irish
P.S.I think that he said that it froze the insects!

The Terro contains borax, mixed with an attractant for the sweet-eating ants... it's worked before, but this seems a very persistant bunch... but you put a drop on a little cardboard square, and they gather round like it's a buffet table... maybe I could use the blowtorch then, if the S/O didn't object to scorch marks on the kitchen counter...

Get a foam spray that is specifically for ants. You can use these inside the house.

OF - I think the ants that GG is talking about, we just call them jumper ants.

I like Jays solution;of using firecrackers!Might as well enjoy the job.Even if they're illegal here;I always know somebody that is
selling them.Besides;nothing is illegal;if you don't get caught!Then
they have to prove it.Usually;agencies don't have the money in their budget;to have a long legal battle and will just drop it! Irish

I like the fireworks idea..... I dunno we're trying to keep it all clean but we only have 2 rooms to live in the kitchen and a office we made a bedroom it's increasingly gross to be awakened by an ant crawling on one's thigh.... EWWWW

Grumble

Oh kyttn, what a lucky ant to be crawling over your thigh LOL
let us know how the eradication program is going

Kyttn at least i know im not the only one scared of ants!!!
Find the bed and pour hot grits cooked with bleach and that should do the trick and if you pour a little bleach around your window sills and places that they can get in they tend to stay away.

aieeeeeeeeeee ant-zilla!

sadora

Kyttn,
It sounds to me like you are living through their mating rituals! What kind are they? Red or Black? (I assume red because of the wings) If your house is wood, I would think carpenter ants. They do extensive damage, and I would hire a specialist. If you are renting, make the landlord pay for the bug guy!

hehe

BamaKyttn

GR8: you gonna kill the bugs w/your bare hands?
OMG, I am terrified of certain bugs we've established this. in the old huge oak trees beside my house there are 1.5 -2.5 inch roaches.... one came in the house, I was sitting on the floor playing Quake and the roach started crawlin to me, I freaked. my g/f was lauighin too hard to kill it there was nothing in reach to kill it (not gonna use my mouse!) so.... I punched it.... and then scrubbed my hands for hours gross gross gross

mission;in Bermuda;I was staying in the temporary barracks on
the base there.I was in the shower;after work;one day;and a
movement;out of the corner of my eye;caught my attention.A
cockroach was crawling across the shower floor. It must have been 3-4" long.I wouldn't even step on it with bare feet. You haven't seen a big bug;until you have seen one there! Irish

Jay you'll hafta fight my g/f.... she's possessive and dead set on making me a lesbian...

sadora
05-14-2002, 11:39 PM
It is unlikely that she can "make" you a lesbian. If you like men (which you obviously do), you like men.... or you could refuse to be classified... either way, I doubt your attraction to men will change.

Just my 2 cents!

Oldfart
05-15-2002, 07:30 AM
1. If you spray the ants with insect repellent, they'll just hate themselves so

much they'll commit hara-kiri.

2. G/f can only make you happy or un-happy, not some gender label.

I liked the 'make me a lesbian' joke too. LOL

Kyttn, you are the one who will determine if you are a lesbian or not. From what i know of you, you are attracted to both sexes and that is most likely how you will remain.

To me you are a sexual person who I like and enjoy chatting with.

Irish

as"Bisexual";rather then "Lesbian."Actually;names(handles)don't

Anything uninvited that doesn't have sexual potential. Which is why masturbation is always such a pulsing invitation. Spent the day reading internet alt.sex stories and am alone at home. Pent up, trying to avoid the shower. Have raised and lowered my pole 3-4 times. aahhhrrrgggg. Need some human contact.
