need a decompressor

Downloaded a video last night and when trying to open it on Realplayer it says " unable to render video MP42 decompressor not found" what the hell is that and where do I get one. I have never had any other troubles playing videos. PLease help

let me see.....hmmmmm....ok, what format is ur Video File??
AVI, MPEG? MPG? RM? RAM? QOV?

let me know and ill do my best to direct u to the decompressors around :)
