Tonight is my 20th highschool reunion. I really wish I could go but things don't always work out as we want.
Have any of you attended reunions? Was it a positive experience?

<----didn't know ^^^ had graduated the year before I did. Amazing what 31 days will do for you. :)
My ten-year reunion was scheduled on my eldest's due date. Since airlines don't allow 9-month pregnant women on their planes and I was in California at the time, I obviously couldn't go.
But my 20-year is next summer, and my sweetie and I have already talked about going...if only to see the shock on some people's faces at the fact that, after so many years, he and I are back together. :)

Last year was my 10th and it was terrible. My best friend and I had more fun going around and visiting old friends in that area and having our own "reunion". The actual reunion was almost like being back in high school, was very clique-y, and only one other gal was there that was from our group of friends. It wasn't that way at our 5 year.
The 5 year was fun even though i was 8 months pregnant. everyone was talking to everyone, having a great time, so my best friend and I were severely disappointed in the 10 year.

LOL @ PF! :)
Now that I think about it, our high school's marching band had a general reunion in 2000...my sister and I went together, hoping to see some of the many friends we'd had there. Unfortunately, most of the attendees were from years either before or after us, and we ended up hanging out mostly with each other, kind of like lizz's story.

We have a reunion every 5 years and have been to all of them and enjoyed each one. We rent the town park and have a big Barbecue and gives a place for kids to play.Next year will be our 35th reunion but there were only 47 kids in the class.

Wow--me and Lilith are about the same age. My 20 years is next year (1987) and there is no way I am going back.
It was real rural town and I believe they are still chasing hippies with pickup trucks there. :cboy:

There was talk of a 10-year reunion but it fizzled out. My guess is that they realized 98% of the graduating class lives off the island & knew maybe 2% would fly home for a reunion.

I boycotted my 30 yr reunion 2 years back, as I have every 5-10 yrs in the past...maybe if I had a gazillion dollars & could embarrass the crap out the cliquies I always hated, I might show...I was a true outcast thruout my school years, & I would prob be more interested in seeing the others like myself, but many of the folks I would wanna see were in other grades...

Three years ago I attended a 20th anniversary party for my high school football team. We went to the Florida state championship game that year. It was great seeing the guys again!
