Guys, normaly I keep my mouth shut about some things, but tonight while I was watching MTV I was pushed over the edge. Most of you know that I am currently working my way to Vet school at Ohio State, so i do have a love for aminals. I'll get to the point here soon please bear with me. I used to love the Osbournes. But tonight My mind has changed and quickly. Ozzy is doing a new show trying to find bands for ozzfest, it's kinda like one guy from the band goes and competes in things to win a spot. well one of these so call called events calles for all eight of the people to bite the head off a live bat. I am so close to writing MTV and telling them they have lost a vewer for good. normally i don't agree with Peta on everything but i can't wait till they jump on this.
Please if this offends you to and you happen to see the commerical or the show, write MTV ozzy whoever and tell them. I know it won't bring the bats back or anything but this is ridiclious and down right cruel, just for the sake of being " cool". I'm so upset right now that I'm gonna be up for awhile, feel free to add your thoughts please.

Personally, I’ve seen what humans are able and willing to do to each other and now we have another generation that is learning it too.:( As a cynical old fuck, I’m disgusted with a lot of things, but people that find pleasure and excitement in the carnage of an inferior species are the top of what makes us the lowest life form. Nothing else kills without the motive of survival.
I was not a fan of the stupid drug addict that has become an idol before, but know I am not part of the “happening” generation. Now I don’t feel so bad about it.:D As of October 29th, 2004, at 04:12:54 Hrs. (GMT), this planet had 6,396,942,701 humans living on it.:yikes: There is little question that population can be sustained and a good place to start reducing it would be with the people that endorse, produce and sponsor that kind of “shock appeal”………right after the audience that finds it fascinating.

I've never cared for ozzy and I care for MTV even less. Both stand for an aspect of people I don't particularly care for. I do admit that I have stayed on MTV while channel surfing but for the most part I won't watch anything they show. It seems like the most popular shows today are aimed at being the lowest common denominator. I hate shows like Jackass and I don't care much for most of the reality shows out there. I'm with PF on how we solve this problem.

Im sure if that event is really goin to happen PETA and other animal organizations will be all over that.....i have am almost done w/ my associates in vet tech, and science and am also almost done w/ my bachelors in env science and bio...of course I love animals too, but you don't need a degree in related fields to love animals...I"m sure if this is going to come true it'll offend those who aren't even that big of animal lovers considering it is so gross and twisted

I will start out by saying that I do not own a TV and do not miss it.
TV is about selling Ad time. Be it new, shock TV or reality TV, or renovating your house, it is all about sales (this is true in North America where the majority of TV is for profit). Do we need government to regulate what is on TV? - nope. It has been shown time and again, if the consumer is upset with a particular companies marketing or endorsment method, it will get changed. The bottem line rules. As a socity we have to learn how to voice our thoughts.
