You tell me...
I just got home... wanna know what I did this evening?
I spent my evening... going to my first meeting... After much convincing and prodding from my friends (all of whom are married to Firefighters)... I have become a member of the local Fire Departments Auxillary.
What is the Auxillary? A group of volunteers (our FD is volunteers too) who go to all the fires in which the firefighters need water, ice, food, etc... In the middle of the nite... in the snow... in the rain... you got the picture...
Why did I do this? Well.... honestly.. my main motive is to watch out for those volunteers that I already know and adore... not to mention.. I have no life.. and need something constructive... plus.. I am TRYING to expand my comfort zone and my friendship base... I need to get to know new people...
A plus.......... watching HOT firemen..... :) Doesn't get much better than that!!
Oh well... atleast now maybe I won't be home all the time.. right?
Hugs everyone...

If it makes you happy, and you still do the job you are given in the position, I'd say who cares what it is. Enjoy the sweaty firemen and get all kinds of fun with it, I'd say you go girl and ice those men down :slurp:

Good for you, Jenna!!
The guys aren't going to care why you're there, they're just going to be grateful that you're willing to do it. And I'm glad you're getting something out of it too. I know how hard it is to step out like that, I think you've found a wonderful way to do it.

I agree jenna...it sounds like a win/win job to me! Might be a bit tough in some weather conditions but just remember, the firefighters are getting the brunt of the crap! Meanwhile, this could open all kinda doors for you hun. It's a sure boost for your self esteem. Volunteering yourself can be so rewarding. I hope it is very fulfilling for you!

Hey Hon, even with the "benefits" you stated you're doing a good thing. It's providing a service for deserving people and getting you out and about. Definitely a win-win. Who says you can't be helpful and enjoy the atmosphere? Glad to see you finding new ways to spend your time. Just don't forget to check in on occasion... you know how we get when you're not around.
