The first person posts a couple snippets of lyrics from a song...

The second person posts the next couple lines and the song and the song name and artist.

Then the second person posts a different snippet from another song...and so on...

So..I'll start:

And I stare at you

tied up and twisted
the way I'd like to be
For you, for me, come crash
into me
-"Crash Into Me", the Dave Matthews Band

Next lyrics:

Hello out there, we're on the air
It's hockey night tonight!
The tension grows, the whistle blows
and the puck goes down the ice.

we storm the crease like bumblebees
we travel like a burnin' flame
we see them slide the puck inside
it's a 1-1 hockey game
-"The Hockey Song" Stompin' Tom Connors

Next Lyrics:

I can still remember
When I was just a kid
When friends were friends forever
And what you said was what you did

"Well, it was me and Danny and Bobby
We cut each other's hand
And held tight to a promise only brothers understand.
Blood on Blood - Bon Jovi

new Lyrics:

....And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinking alone....

Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright

Billy Joel: Piano Man

New Lyrics:

I met her in a Kingstown bar
We fell in love I knew it had to end
We took what we had and we ripped it apart
Now here I am down in Kingstown again

Everybody’s got a hungry heart
Everybody’s got a hungry heart
Lay down your money and you play your part
Everybody’s got a hungry heart

Bruce Springsteen- Hungry Heart

new lyrics:

....Being good isn't always easy,
No matter how hard I tried,
When he started sweet talking to me,
he'd come tell me everything is alright,
he'd kiss and tell me everything is alright,
Can I get away again tonight?........

The only one who could ever reach me,
Was the son of a preacher man,
The only boy who could ever teach me,
Was the son of a preacher man,
Yes he was, he was, oh yes he was.

"son of a preacher man" by Dusty Springfield

Well boy meets girl and it's a good bet
Girl's gonna play a little hard to get
But they both got the same thing on their mind
Ain't that the way that the world goes round
Don't it get you up get you down
It gets you walking around with a flashlight trying to find
Love

Gotta getcha some Oooh gotta getcha some Love! ~ Toby Keith

Young teacher, the subject of schoolgirl fantasies
She wants him so badly, knows what she wants to be
Inside her, there's longing
This girl’s an open page
Book marking - she’s so close now
This girl is half his age

Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me
Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me

The Police

next lyrics:
But my heart keeps calling me backwards
As I get on the 707
Ridin' high I got tears in my eyes
You know you got to go through hell
Before you get to heaven

Big ole jet airliner
Don't carry me too far away
Oh, Oh big ole jet airliner
Cause it's here that I've got to stay ~ Steve Miller Band

Up Next:
I stick loneliness, your lips
And the two coins of your eyes
Into my pockets
Yeah-heah
While the train skates into Fort Henry
Late Sunday

"Sometimes when I'm riding high
Feeling fine you know there's something
Troubling my mind"

By Dispatch

Next Lyrics:

"Everytime we disagreed
She was always askin' me
Are you a man or a mouse
Now that she's gone
She probably thinks I'm home
Just a mopin' around the house
She probably thinks that she's the one thing
I just couldn't get along without
Well wouldn't it surprise her I got a sympathizer
As long as these bottles hold out"

Well, I’m a-sittin’ on a bar stool,
Actin’ like a dern fool:
That’s what I’m a-doin’ today!
And I’m sittin’ here drinkin’ -
Tryin’ to keep from thinkin’
I’m a-boozin’ my troubles away.
Well, now, I couldn’t make her stay.
Well, doggone her, anyway!
She can’t say that I didn’t try-y-y!

Charlie Daniels Band ~ Drinkin' my baby goodbye

New song

And yesterday I saw you standing by the river,
And weren't those tears that filled your eyes?
And all the fish that lay in dirty water dying,
had they got you hypnotized?

And yesterday I saw you kissing tiny flowers
but all that lives is born to die
and so I say to you that nothing really matters
and all you do is stand and cry

Page and Plant ~ That's the Way

New song:

And she was lying in the grass
and she could hear the highway breathing.
And she could see a nearby factory

She's making sure she is not dreaming.
See the lights of a neighbor's house

now she's starting to rise.
Take a minute to concentrate and she opens up her eyes.

The world was moving

she was right there with it and she was -
The world was moving

she was floating above it (and she was) and she was.

"And she was drifting through the backyard.
And she was taking off her dress.
And she was moving very slowly,
Rising up above the earth.
Moving into the universe.
Drifting this way and that.
Not touching ground at all.
Up above the yard."

~And She Was by David Byrne

Next Up:

"Now you're lonely, lonely like the sun
Whose going to love you, why should anyone?
Can you bear to be the bearer of such things?
I don't believe that I believe it
And I'm afraid that I I'm afraid..."
