I know this is a lot like the men's topic trim/shave, but this thread is for women only (of course men are still allowed to make comments). I have been shaving for a while and I STILL can't get it right. My main problem is razor burn and lack of flexibility :redghost: lol. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sharp razor (one of those 3 blade ones work best), use conditioner instead of gel/soap, Shave WITH the hair, make sure your conditioner, water, and razor are warm(so the cold doesn't give goosebumps!) no lotion afterwards...... baby oil works better and it's not as painful..... thats all I have.

I agree with bama, the s/o uses my mach 3 and it works great, however she uses my vitamin e enriched aloe infused shaving gel rather than conditioner or soaps. Always make sure that you soak your hair in as hot as possible water first to soften the hair, makes for easier shaving. As for lotions afterward anything alcohol free & scent free preferably aloe or vitamin E enriched will not sting and will soften the skin. Have fun ;)

When you talk about conditionner you talk about the one use to wash hair?

yes they do mean ordinary hair conditioner Patow.

And Bama is absolutely right about shaving WITH the direction of the hair... at least for a few weeks until your body is used to it, and can handle going against the grain.

Don't shave every day at first, maybe every third or fourth, and then every second or third day, before finally everyday.

hope this helps!

I shave every morning - it leaves my face smooth and gentle for a few hours. If I knew of a reliable way not to shave and still stay clean, I'd vote for it.

I LOVE sliding up and down a smooth wet furrow but if it is hairy or (God forbid) covered in stubble, I can't do it for long. So Milady used depilatory cream about once a week or so. She is not only super smooth afterwards, but the regrowth is fine and delicate and no problem at all.

But the good news is the modern retardant creams that inhibit the regrowth. Rubbed in regularly they slow the regrowth down dramatically and, after a longer period of use, the regrowth is definitely finer and softer. Like baby hair, and the effect is permanent or very long lasting.

I can't imagine why anyone would prefer shaving, and I'm only sliding up and down a five-day old furrow if you ask me very nicely.

I've been doing a mixture of waxing and shaving depending how brave and pain resistant I feel for the past couple of years. But those retardant creams sound good, pity you can't get a fast reacting one for Christmas!

I don't shave it ALL off, I prefer just to be trimmed.
Definitely don't like to be hairy! ;)

Does anyone else get into phases where they just don't want to shave it? Some weeks, it's all I can do to get in the shower, let alone shave everywhere! :) It's winter, I let my legs go. It might gross guys out (it grosses Tyler out but God, that's several feet I'm shaving every day or so!!!) but I'm usually wearing pants.

On topic, I love Nair. It's quick and easy.

Just recently started shaving there, and I definitely have the problem of getting razor burn. I have found that an electric razor that I have had for years but never used (doesn't get close enough on my legs) works wonders! No risk of nicks, flexibility is not a problem, you don't even have to watch what your doing, and it is just close enough to feel smooth. I don't like how it works on the pubic bone area so I use a regular old razor there.

YES! Years of being single, made me want an excuse to shave! And thankfully now I have it.

Just curious here, but doesn't Nair sting or burn?? I would think that it would, being such a sensitive area and all....

I just use a razor and the only thing that I have found to work is not shaving cream, but children's bubble bath. It is not as harsh as soap and gives me a nice smooth shave.

I enjoy being completely shaved but it is a bit of a pain at times. I have been doing it for about a year and the most I can shave is every other day. If I try everyday, it gets really irritated.

So for one day I am super smooth and the next day I have slight stubble!! :(

OMG! I used Epilstop once. I tried it on my legs first. I didn't leave it on very long and it took a whole layer of skin off my leg!! Burned it right off!! LOL

Needless to say.....it never found it's way between my legs! LOL

I gave my girl a gift certificate to an upscale salon/spa for her birthday. To show her appreciation, she spent some of it on a Brazilian wax. She said the discomfort was mild, but her mound is bald and smooth (no ingrown hairs or stubble, her lips are smooth, and they even did between her ass cheeks. The only hair she has is what the lady at the spa called a "landing strip" which is a small strip of neatly trimmed hair that starts above her lips and goes to just below her panty line.

She looks like a porn star, and she's told it lasts MUCH longer than shaving or do-it-yourself waxing.

That sounds so much better than shaving. I've tried to help with the shaving routine and it is tough to get right and yes, I am a perfectionist, thank you. So I am going to encourage my lady to do that!

Wish I could find an upscale salon here to do that. I don't think anyone in this area has even heard of a brazilian wax...lol...unless they've watched "Sex in the City". So I'm stuck doing it myself or letting my s/o help me out...*grin*, much more fun that way.

I love the feeling of being "bald" but hate to shave. I have let hubby shave me, nice foreplay. What I don't like is the stubble. I also get red bumps and pimples. I would like to get one of those do-it-yourself waxing kits specificaly designed for "tender" places from the local salon product outlet, but am a little worried about skin irritation.

Latest news! My lady had appointemnts scheduled with the gyno, ultrasonic etc. Although she normally wears no more than a little landing strip, she felt a bit embarrassed about the idea of flashing around the hospital - we live in a very small town. (I think she's crazy - having a reputation makes other women jealous and men respectful). Anyway, to cut a long story short, she let the hair grow back for the first time in years and years.

Neither of us liked it. After being used to a smooth silky pussy for so long, the sight of a carpet growing on her mound put us both off. I say mound, because around three years ago she used an inhibitor on her lips for 2 or 3 weeks - until the jar finished. It certainly seemed to slow the regrowth in that area right down.

So you want the good news? Firstly the trip to the hospital was no problem - big sighs of relief. Secondly, after 3 weeks of trying to grow hair, her lips were still naked! We are so impressed we are going to buy some more to catch the little bits here and there that we missed the first time around. We will have to negotiate about her mound; I would be happy to see it all go as well and stuff what doctors etc might think about her. In fact I like the idea of the nurses etc going around saying "Tut, tut tut, at her age! Looks like a whore, no hair on her pussy. Dirty little bitch!" etc. etc. However, she the landowner; I'm only a sitting tenant. I expect we'll reach some kind of compromise......

But the way, the inhibitor we used came from www.hairnomore.com. They also want to send you the removing cream but apparently you can use the inhibitor after any type of depilation or waxing (not shaving). I understand that results vary from person to person, but it's worth a try.

ericthered ~ That reminded me of my decision when going to have some tests done *L*

I'm shaved and wasnt growing it back for anyone....so off i went for the tests....the matronly-type nurse who was prepping me reckoned it was great *LOL*...much easier to handle for what she needed to do

It was quite humourous....picture the doctor sitting at machine-thingy....and me (pussy bare to the world) & the nurse discussing the pros for having a shaved puss..

LMAO

Yah, reminds me of the discussion on the operating table when I had my V done. Doctor discussing with nurses my trim for the surgery. He got me good. I decided then and there to shave it all aftreward.

Has anyone tried Nads? You can supposedly eat it so it would work in the tender areas of the body.

Thinking about going to buy some. Will let everyone know the results!

I use Nair for the bikini line a lot and it's worked for me. Test it on a small area first and you should be fine.

I use a three bladed razor in the shower every other day it works well for me and my husband enjoys it. Lately we've been thinking about getting an electric razor ( adamandeve.com has an electric pussy shaver) and having him shave me.
